One of my favorites is to rub the salmon with olive oil, put minced fresh garlic all over it, a bit of salt and pepper and then spread it with pesto. I bake it for about 15 min (depends on the size of the fillet) and it's delicious!

But I'm looking for some simpler seasoning ideas - with shake on seasonings and such. What's your best Salmon Secret?

Your recipe sounds great! I will have to try that. I always use a fresh lemon juice coating first. Then, I use a Jamaican Jerk seasoning coating both sides. Then, I use a layer of fresh sweet basil leaves from my herb garden that have soaked in extra virgin olive oil. I bake according to size, too. Good Luck & Blessings

I place parchment paper on the baking sheet. Salt and pepper the salmon. Set aside.

Then I dice up a small to medium onion (sm dice) then slice button mushrooms. Mix those in 1 cup of mayonnaise and 2 tablespoons of wasabi powder. Spread that over the salmon and sprinkle Furikake (Japanese Rice Seasoning) over the top. Then bake it in a 350 F. oven for about 20-25 minutes. Served with steamed rice and Steamed Baby Bok Choy. So ono.

When I do salmon I chose the fillets with the skin on. Its so mcuh easier to cook and you dont burn it. Season both sides loads of salt and pepper on the skin side and fry in butter. The good thing about the skin is the salmon cooks through it and when the line almost reaches the top of the uncooked fish flip in over and cook for a couple of minutes. Then baby potatoes boiled with the skin on mashed with butter and cream, stir in a few diced raw spring onions and serve YUM

No shake n' bake, but Lemon Pepper works great and is super easy. Lightly dust each fillet with Lemon Pepper spice, and then place in oven and they come out very flavorful

I put the fillets in a aluminum foil bag, sprinkle with garlic powder, fresh ground black pepper and thyme, cover with green, yellow and red bell pepper (sliced in rings).

Seal the foil bag and bake for about 30 min.

I do a quick merinade of orange juice, honey, ginger, and soy sauce. I let it sit about 20 minutes. I then bake it in a foil pouch with some lemon or orange slices.
Once done I serve it over rice with a salad.

Old Bay Lemon and Herb, comes in a little tin about the size and shape of a pack of cigarettes, and some extra dill. Delicious. Never fails to please. Costs less than one salmon filet and lasts a long, long time.
