Yes, and we also give all our son's clothes to my nephew. Other family members pass things down, too. It really helps, even if it's play clothes. Some people just aren't in the habit of doing this, maybe you could ask your sis in law and cousins if they are planning on selling their kids clothes (or if they are having a yard sell) if you could have first chance at buying them. They may give you some or at least sell them at a very low price.

absolutley, my sister has a daughter that is about the same size as my daughter, though she is 2 years older. I will get clothes from her every now and then. I will have to start giving her daughter my kids clothes, she is taller than her cousin is now.
I also have a friend that has younger or smaller kids than mine and if there is decent clothing that I want to get rid of, I will give it to her and if she doesn't I just give it to good will.
It is great. We are always trying to help each other out.
sometimes I have to ask for them or say hey does Lex have any outgrown clothes? Then she will hand them over.

Some people do give me things for my kids and I pass on mine to others, I know some people do not like to offer clothes incase they offend and some people are very precious about their things and want to keep them for any future babies they may have.
Depends the age gap as well as if there is not much of an age gap then perhaps your familys children are still in same aged clothes or havent got round to having a clear out yet?

Sure, I have a friend of the family that has two older boys and we get the hand-me-downs from them.. It's been a godsend ! I also look at garage sales, thrift shops and children's boutique's.. I've also started working at KOHL'S where I get a discount and the clothes are really well made and NOT expensive.... Maybe, you could ask them if they have anything they would like to get rid of and see what they say ?

OMG yes! I still have 2 boxes full of childrens clothes I havent even looked at yet! My mom and grandma sisters even brothers will buy up all kinds of clothes for my kids. And of course lots of pass downs. (I'm the only one with small children in the family.)
I usually go thru them and give the ones I dont like or dont fit to a local church.

All the time. When I had my first boy I bought this very cute and expensive little suit, when my baby outgrew it I gave it to my cousin. She then passed it along to 2 other cousins of mine and 4 years after that I had another boy and the suit was returned to me in excellent conditions so my baby wore it as well and know I have it put away in hopes that someday a grandson will get to wear it too.

Yes...... and I already have more than enough.
I have a cousin who is about a year older than my boys and my aunt gives me 3-5 large boxes a year. I cant even keep up with my kids stuff now and I end up just passing the stuff on to other friends with children the same age.
I grew up on hand me downs....... but fortunately my kids dont need them like I did.

I have a boy and a girl. Didn't know what to do with their clothes. Have no nephews/nieces to give them to. Have some friends/neighbors with younger kids. But was afraid of offending them if I offered the clothes. So, kept giving them to Goodwill, till a friend saw me packing the bags one day, and asked if she could have them.
So, this could be the case with your family too. Maybe, they think that you might be offended if they offer to pass down their kids' clothing to you...

Absolutely and I love it! Luckily, they only give me the clothes that are still in good condition, so I don't have to worry about sorting through torn or stained clothes. The tricky part is if they get pregnant again there's the ackward "Can I get those clothes back?" conversation - and I can't remember which ones they gave me!
