As of late I've been ordering take out because I work late into the wee hours. I haven't been shopping in like weeks. Yeah. That sucks I know. This weekend I plan on going grocery shopping. It's been such a long time that I'll probably just stand there looking at the "produce" like I've never seen it before!

My wife & I went last Saturday. I took along a calculator and kept a running tally of how much we were spending as we shopped. This can really help if you have a budget, if you select a high price item and add it to your tally you can ask yourself, do I really need this? before you get to the cashier. If you don't keep the item you just deduct it from your tally. We had budgeted $90.00 for our shopping and we knew we had spent $88.00 before getting to the cashier. We bought enough food and household goods to last about one and a half weeks. Take out is nice once in a while but cooking at home is healthier and more economical. It can also help to have some sort of "meal plan" before you go shopping and eat something before setting foot in the store, you would be amazed at what you'll bring home if you go shopping when you're hungry.

I work all night, so to me, the best time to shop is when I get off work early in the morning. There are very few people in the store at that hour and I can take my time. Definitely makes the grocery shopping experience more enjoyable. But of course, you have to have a store in your town that stays open all night!

I rather have by no skill discovered Walmart SuperCenters to have clean produce or dairy products,.. their bread is in lots of situations older than what may well be offered interior the food market additionally think of approximately how distribution works. No distributors rather visit walmart,.. you do no longer see the bread truck there or the cola individuals,.. merely Walmart automobiles, ...all Walmarts products are shipped to a Walmart distribution web site, and then trucked from there by employing walmart to the shops. besides the undeniable fact that the Bread truck is going from the bakery to the food market for sure getting there with out stopover and for that reason brisker bread. comparable with the meats offered at Walmart, Walmart has no butchers working at the back of the beef counter,.. that meat is butchered then, shipped to a Walmart Distribution center then trucked to the shops,.. the beef interior the food market comes clean from slaughter and is butchered on the keep for this reason brisker

This morning. I go shopping about 5 days a week because I only get inspiration in the morning. I got milk, butter, salad greens, red bell peppers, and beer. The cashier must think I'm nuts for buying beer and milk at 6:30 a.m., but it's the only time I have!

I usually do it on Sunday afternoons, the crowd is usually smaller and I like it being more quiet. Plus I can plan my meals for the week that way, or at least that's what I try and do, it usually never works out. : )
