Someone I know has a sore in their mouth. I was wondering since it's painful does this mean it couldn't be cancer??? This person does not want to get a biopsy due to psychological problems, so please don't suggest it. If cancer is a silent killer, that would mean that if this person bit down on the inside of their mouth and it's taking a long time to heal (3 months) and it hurts, that would most likely mean that it's not cancer because cancer doesn't hurt, right???

Cancer isn't painful until it spreads. If the cancer has gotten painful, you probably don't have much time left.

How did you get from a mouth sore to thinking it's cancer? I think that indicates psychological problems as well.

my sister had a sore in her mouth(on the tongue)and she told her dentist, yes she was sent to the hospital and she had a biopsy it was cancer and they caught it in time shes had 6 weeks of radiotheraphy and shes now in a lot of pain but hopefully shes going to be alright,i dont know how to take your question because something doesnt sound right here?or is it the way youve put the question down/?either way cancer is not a silent killer as you say ive watched my lovely brother and my beautiful mum die in pain from cancer so you should go see a doctor soon as god bless anyway

Most small tumors are painless, but some certainly are. I would think that an oral lesion would be at least sore.
Many cancers are just someplace where they do not exert pressure on anything and don't start causing pain until they metastasize and start growing in a joint or other place where they apply pressure.

sorry but cancer is painful in more ways than one. if you've got a problem with healing seek some type of health professional. you will never know whats going on until you do and then you might not.

Many aspects of cancer cause extreme pain for the patient. I don't know where yoiu got the info about cancer not being painful, but it is flat out wrong.

Uhm, yeah, once it spreads it can become very painful. I suggest that you have your friend check it out immediately.
