Hi, Snowy.com.
Jesus only start one Church. That's where I go, not just to worship, but to receive the sacraments and learn from those who have been with Jesus from the beginning.
Since roughly 1500, over 20,000 Christian organizations, with various degrees of orthodoxy, have been established. Since they were well over a thousand years too late, none of these are the Church.
Those that claim to be the Church have to establish an unbroken line of apostolic authority across history, going back to roughly 30 AD. That only leaves the Catholic church and perhaps the Orthodox.
One of the many benefits of being Catholic is knowing how early Christians (all Catholic) understood what Jesus was saying in the ancient texts of the New Testament. What does it mean to be "born again by water and the Holy Spirit"? To "eat his body and drink his blood"? The Catholics know.
Cheers,
Bruce
