Yes & Yes to both questions - but only if you are an active duty member. It will be at the "With Dependents" rate.

Go to the following web sites... They should give you all you need to know about housing allowance and who is authorized.

Yes a single parent still gets housing allowance or base housing. The problem to remember is that you do have to have some one designated to care for the child if you are deployed to a location where the dependent cannot go with you and that most bases probably would have anything for you to move in the day you got there; so again it would be either off base with the allowance or the child remains with another caregiver until you get settled. If you go overseas or to a location where the child cannot immediately go with you the housing allowance is still paid and the variable would based on where the child is.

You can live on base if your son lives with you the majority of the time...more than 50% I believe. If he lives with your ex most of the time and you have weekend visitation, than you would not be allowed on base. You will need to follow the regular procedures for getting base housing, including the possibility of having to live off base until a place is available.

Regardless of if he lives with your or not, if you choose to live off base you would recieve dependent rate housing allowance. Keep in mind though that in some states, they will take into consideration when deciding spousal and child support (if you are paying to your ex).

If you are active military, and have a dependent (Child) the military should provide you with housing. You can't live in the barracks with a child, after all :)

Otherwise, they may give you the housing allowance, and you may have to live off post, but thanks to housing allowance it will be paid for.

My friend is in the same exact situation as you are, and as a private he has off post housing with his son, and receives his BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing).

If you're E-5 or above, this is especially true. E-4 and below, and they might try to work out some other circumstances depending on where you're going, but more likely than not you'll find yourself living on post, in a home with your son.

For deployments, you may have to send your son to live with family, however. In fact, that is highly likely. They won't let a minor live in military housing by himself.

A lot of times, FRG (Family Readiness Groups), will periodically check on your children while you're deployed, to ensure they're living up to standards.

If nothing else, the military is great at ensuring families are taken care of. As a single soldier myself, I feel kind of left out of all the benifits :)

I am guessing that you are the active duty military member and if that be the case then yes your son can stay with you on base, or if you decide that you do not want to live on the base you can still get a BAH at a dependent rate.

If you are an active duty military person, yes, you can receive the housing allowance for living off base. If you live on base, you will not receive the housing allowance.

A police officer can seek quite anybody as long as they the two have consent or in all probability reason. Or, if the officer believes the guy being searched must be armed, they might carry out what's named a Terry Frisk. not understanding the specifics of the area, i could not inform you if the officer had any reason to have faith the 6 year previous might have been concelaing a weapon, or if the officer had pc, or if the guy gave consent to have his son searched. or perhaps however you have got complete custody, the father had him in his automobile, below his supervision, and, assumedly, with your permission and knowlege. The officer become not obligated to call you first. My concepts, in case you prefer to pursue this, are to call the police station and ask to communicate with the officer's supervisor. even however the officer won't have violated any regulations, courtroom judgements, or your civil rights, he ought to have violated the regulations of his branch. you additionally can seek for advice from a civil rights attorney. maximum severely, you will possibly be able to prefer to reassess allowing your son't father to take him out. My droop is that your husband has a prior historic previous that made the officer nervous. LEO's do not generally pass from an person-friendly give up over a cracked windshield to looking the occupants except there is something else to the tale. If the officer overstepped the limitations of his authority, then with the aid of all potential, it would be addressed. El Chistoso

you would get either bah or base housing ONLY if your son lives with you more than 50% of the time. if he doesnt and you have overnight visitation with him that prevents you from living in the barracks they most likely will give you single rate BAH and allow you to live off base. before my duaghter was born my husband had a similar situation and got single rate to live off base only.....now that he is remarried and has additional children we live on base, but are only allowed a bedroom allowance for the children we have with us full time. so at times we have 5 children in a 3 br house.

You must have a custody order and the child must in reality live with you more than 6 months of the year to qualify for housing or housing allowance. Otherwise it's fraud and a CMO.
