I loved bartending, there wasn't any downfalls. I got hit on by a lot of guys, but I would flirt back & since they knew I was taken so no harm came of it. Plus a smile & wink would go a long ways in tips. besides if I was serving the drinks I wasn't drinking them & getting in trouble

You're never home at night, when your wife or husband is, and later, your kids. Or you are, but day shift gets lousy tips.
Part of your job involves mild flirtation with people. Your spouse will not care for this, even if she knows it's just the job.
You are around people who are buzzed or drunk for 40 hours a week.
You're up late, but it's not always quiet enough to sleep late, too.
You have to make judgment calls about who's had too much and shouldn't be served.
The restrooms will be filthy pits every single night, and part of closing is cleaning up.

Most of the shifts will be Friday and Saturday nights. In other words, there will be no more casual socializing with friends and no time for parties held during the weekend.

Having to cut people off drinks, and having to get them home safely. Don't even get me started about having to call 911 from a bathroom to come take someone away.
