I was adopted at birth as was my brother 2 years before me (no biological connection). We were both told from a young age about how we had been "chosen". My parents were both older than everyone elses which isnt fair I dont think. My father died 5 years ago aged 69 and my mother is still alive but has dementia and is 81 - I am 36 and it feel like there is a generation missing. My brother was killed 12 years ago so life is hard. Any older people considering adopting should think carefully of the childs future in later life. I love/loved all my adoptive family as if they were my own. My birth mother had an affair and i was her 6th child and she felt she couldnt cope with me although the other 5 were ok to keep - hence the reason i have never contacted her .

I am. I've been with my adoptive family since I was almost 6 weeks old, and they adopted me the summer before my fifth birthday. I'll be 22 in a week.

I am! What did you want to know? How it feels? Great! I had great parents. They are both dead now and I miss them dearly. I know who my bilological parents are. My bio-father is deceased and my bio-mother is still alive, but I don't consider her my mother. I had a tough time for a while, wondering why she didn't want me. But, I have 7 brothers and sisters from her and they are all from different dads, so thank God I wasn't raised by her.

My mom used to tell me I was special because she picked me. Maybe that's why I was so spoiled.

Being adopted can have it's ups and downs. Nothing is ever perfect. But for me - I wouldn't change it.

I, too, am adopted. My mom and dad had a son, then adopted me. Fours years after adopting me, they had my sister.

Yep, I was adopted by my paternal granparents after my birht father died and my birthmom split. I didn't know I was adopted until I was 9 tho. I have since found my birthmom and have a great relationship with her.
