For example, 18, and then they were taught about all religions equally and in an unbiased way, would as many of them accept it as they do when they're taught to believe in a specific religion from a young age?

I know that in reality this wouldn't be possible. But hypothetically, if this was possible, would they choose to believe in any religion?

You're answering the wrong questions. I'm not asking whether it'd be possible, or right, to do this, but what effect it would have.

Well, as a parent, I think I would be doing a great disservice to my children to hide religion from them for 18 years.

Look, I'm not a Christian because it's social or fun or whatever. I'm a Christian because I believe God is real and worthy of my attention -- because God is TRUE. Not "true for me and not true for you," but objectively true.

It would be completely and totally wrong for any parent to purposely hide the truth from one's children, don't you think?

It would be a nightmare.

For example, see the parents who try to hide their children from the subject of sex until they're adults. See how far it gets them.

All that would end up happening is that the children would learn about it from their peers.... and when immature minds influence each other unhindered, the result is often complete havoc.

i dont know.. do u really think any of them would care about religion after 18 yrs of not even hearing about it?
plus, how would you feel if you were of a certain religion, and u werent allowed to share your faith with your own kids. the kids belong to you, not to the government, not to the teachers. i think it should be a choice of parents as to when to teach their kid about religion.
