Ok this is rather disgusting but I am quite concerned. My cat took a dump and it was like a yellow mousse with some blood in it? Very worrying...and super disgusting. Has someone had a similar experience with their cat?

He had diarrhoea before, then it went away, then we changed his diet to shredded chicken (boiled and then dried) and plain rice.

Then suddenly I found this monstrosity of a yellow turd? What the hell? Never seen anything like it...I was wretching trying to clean it up...wrong on so many levels.

It could be coccidia which is very common in young cats.

Also, overfeeding causes loose, smelly, greasy stool, and inflamed intestines can cause the blood.

You'll need to rest his stomach. No food tonight (except of course his dry food-they don't tend to overeat dry food)
and just a teaspoonfull in the morning.

You really don't need to feed a cat much canned food at all. A tablespoon two times a dey is plenty, as long as they have dry food available.

My cats split a 3 ounce can 5 ways. Overfeeding is really common. It's way better to have them feeling a little hungry after they finish thier canned food.

If the poop improves over the next couple of days, then you'll know it is stomach irritation.
If not you need to take a sample to the vet's to see if it's coccidia.

Try canned food for cats. The chicken is probably too heavy for every meal.

I agree with 1st answer. Hookworms is one internal parasite which can cause blood, runs.
Also, how old is your cat?
Liver or pancreatic disease can and does cause "pale, yelow/greenish, very foul smelling" diarrehea due to malabsorption.

Or again try boiled chicken meat with cooked rice (which is very good) for awhile and see if the poopies stay normal in consistancey.

Only a vet will be able to tell for sure, your cat might be feeling really unwell, so it is really important to get this checked out
