No, he should have been given a medal. I'm a nurse, and one of the hospitals in our area has closed labor and delivery due to financial losses related to illegal aliens. Now it is contemplating closing the ER. They generally recoup some costs of care from uninsured citizens, but with the illegal aliens most give false addresses and billing is unable to contact them.

No, he should not be fired, if the very system refuses to help the poorest Americans, why should he or the system help the illegals?
Out of both social groups which has the 'real' right to free American health care?

Why should FREE non-emergency medical care be given to illegals when our own citizens do not get it?
If an illegal wants FREE non-emergency medical care, let him go home to get it.
What part of "illegal" do you not understand? If they break the law to get here, why should we reward them for doing it?

No,laws in most states require that any not-for-profit or public hospital is barred from denying emergency care based on the inability to pay.Laws do not address standard medical care.Dr.Rogers is following the law as written.Solution is to change the wording of the law.

Actually I did research on this before and hospitals and doctors are allowed to refuse service to anyone. You do have the right to sue them but they do have the right to refuse medical treatment to you.
I don't blame them. Half the time they don't get paid. They are saving there own livelihood. Plus how is an illegal going to sue them being here illegally.

More power to him, I applaud him, maybe if there were more like him, the system wouldn't be so drained and law abiding hard working citizens might stand a chance of being able to afford health care, illegals are destroying middle class America.

He should not be fired. It would be different if he refused to provide free medical care in emergencies because then someones life is actually at risk but since he is refusing to give free medical care for non-emergencies, I support him 100%.

I think it is good that he was fired so that some attention can be brought to this issue...other than that I don't think he should have been fired.
Giving non-emergency medical help to people who aren't citizens and have never paid a cent into our medical programs is wrong. If they want non-emergency treatment they should pay for it.

No, one of the reasons we have so many illegals here is because many are accommodate with the monies of the USA tax payers. On one hand we say it is illegal to be here and other the other hand we say here this will make it easier to live and work here. No wonder illegals have a sense of entitlement and defiance, because many are saying that you have rights and the tax payers will pay for those rights, whether they like it or not

Why should my tax money use on people who break the law? He should not be fired. We should not treat illegal immigrant for non-emergency issue.
