If our Nations became one?

There's an old saying - "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time" - and that applies here.

There are some people who are just determined to be unhappy, regardless of anything. Too bad for them... ;-)

But in the case of all nations being one - I think that would be a HUGE disaster. We didn't like it in colonial days when we were ruled by a king in England. Why would any sovereign nation give up their sovereignty to another willingly?

What people don't get is that Mexicans are very resistant to assimilating their identity.

They might speak English and use American dollars, but they will march with their fellow Mexicans in the streets when the time comes for it.

we already have every nation represented in the USA. this country isnt exactly dripping with sweetness and kindness is it? Frankly I am all for closing our borders until we can take care of our own domestic problems instead of worrying about everyone else's problems.

If all nations would become one. This would reek havoc.
There are to many different beliefs amongst everybody together.
That is why it is , " ONE nation under God "
We all have our opinions and with these opinions cause arguments always.
So, my answer would have to be NO.

If you're talking about the NAU then absolutely not. We'd be pulling in a minor economic engine and a hugely dysfunctional welfare state.

In the US we are always fighting among ourselves. I doubt adding more cultures to the mix would help.
