I don't have anything against Jews, I support Israel and I am by no means racist, but it seems to me bad to say that the Holy Family was Jewish when it was the Jews of that area (not all Jews!) who killed.

According to the Passion of the Christ, the Jewish merchants tell the Jewish soldiers to crucify. It shows them walking through the streets of Rome up to the cross.

I guess it is just insult to injury.

Please don't construe this as racist or anything, I know it happened A LONG time ago and His Holiness Pius the XI forgave the Jews.

The Virgin loves and prays for all Her people (everyone)!

The Jewish Priesthood are indeed guilty for pushing for the death of Jesus, remember Pilate wanted to set Him free but they threatened to tell Ceasar, this is their shame and guilt, so all Jews have had to suffer because of these men.
Jesus,Mary and Joseph were Aramaic and of the royal lineage of King David, this was a holy and hidden descendancy that really cannot be classed with the Tamudic Jews of the Temple.

Jesus forgave the Romans, Greeks and Jews that were all present at the crucifixtion as well as any gentile from any other part of the world. The early church was established with Jews and His disciples were Jews. Jews are a race and a religion..the only one on the planet that is both. Jesus was born an Jew, into a nation of people set aside as the Holy Nation, first born people of God. However, they dispised their birthright (Jacob and Esau) and therefore the gentiles were grafted in (Ruth) so don't misconstrue the fact that the man called a pope (no man is holy except for Christ and no man has been left here as His vicar-that is the Holy Spirit in each person born again of Christ) cannot forgive anyone of anything because it is not within his power. Also, the "virgin" Mary, was a virgin at the time of Christs birth...beyond that she was a mother to James and possibly others and as well she has died now and doesn't pray for anyone...not even herself. The Catholic religion is full of blasphemies...just read Revelation. Think about this...the Romans had just as much to do with His death as the Jews or anyone else because He orchestrated His own arrest and consequential suffering and sacrifice...the temple merchants were angry for a reason. Pope pius needs to rethink...well, ya know...forgiving the Jews...without the fulfillment of prophecy we wouldn't have a savior and that is exactly what Satan was trying to do when he sent the dreams to Pontius Pilate's wife. If Christ hadn't wanted to die on that cross for us...He could have easily avoided it and said so to His disciples. Oh and another thing is...the Passion of the Christ is a movie that has been directed by a Catholic actor. Well done and beautiful as it may have been..there were many liberties taken that were not scriptural. Be careful..if Jesus could love you as He loves everyone there are no racial lines. We are all misled and tempted and betrayers and He alone can forgive. Love in Christ, ~J~

Err, Jesus was Jewish. So was his mother (The gospels provide a geneology back to King David - a Jewish hero. His Jewish credentials were a vital part of his identity, especially for Matthew).

So were all his disciples. And Paul. And all the authors of all the books of the Bible (with the possible exception of Luke). And just about everyone mentioned in the Bible was Jewish, too, especially in the Old Testament.

The soldiers were Romans, who were occupying the lands of the Jews at the time. Crucifixion was a Roman mode of execution, not a Jewish one. But Jesus was crucified near Jerusalem, not Rome.

Of course it is not blasphemy to say the Holy Family was Jewish. Jesus Christ was a devout Jew who celebrated the Jewish holy days, including Passover.

Remember that the first followers of Christ were all Jewish. Have you thought that if Jesus had been accepted by the Jewish religious leaders, we would probably all be Jewish.

Er - whose gonna forgive the pope?

The Jews have nothing to be forgiven of! What a bunch of crock!

Jesus died, first at the hands of the Romans.

Second, He prophecied His own death and told the governor that the crime was not his, but the Higher Authority!

They weren't Jewish soldiers. No Jew would be a soldier in the Roman army!

This virgin had other children from Joseph. Do you even READ the Bible before you say things that make you look foolish? And dead people don't pray!

The BIBLE says that we DO have an advocate with the Father, but HIS name is Jesus. NOWHERE does the Bible (which is the source of all Truth) say that mary prays for us. Mary was a sinner like the rest of us. She even sang "My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior, for He who is mighty has done great things, and holy is His name." Note that she needed a savior like the rest of us sinners.

The prophets of the Old Testament and also Jesus told people truths in an uncompromising way. So he showed many of the religious leaders up as hypocrites, and got them jealous because of his miracle-working power and great teaching. He healed on the sabbath for instance, whereas they had built up an extra-biblical and (rather silly I think) bank of commands saying exactly what people could and couldn't do on the sabbath.

Many of the Old Testament prophets got killed (usually by the people in power, political or sometimes religious). Moses himself, the most illustrious, was extremely badly treated at times. In Hebrews 11 it briefly mentions some of this.

Its not a Jewish issue its just that God is pure and so His message irritates some people, especially those in power. People in power are often corrupt, but if they are criticised they can use powers they have without much conscience.

Why would it be blasphemy to tell the truth? Especially when that truth is clearly stated in the Bible? This is why the Jewish people were the Chosen People. They were chosen to be the people through whom the Messiah would come into the world. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, as well as all the members of the early Christian Church (before it started reaching out to the Gentiles) were Jewish.

No. The Holy Family was Jewish. In fact, Jesus was a Rabbi and he ministered to the Jews.

Answer: You really need to read the book. God not man judges. That includes Pius XI.

They were Jews. Mary and Joseph, Jewish. Jesus, Jewish. It was a Jewish family.

Who else would play the part to crucify Jesus? Nobody else would have had anything against Him. It was meant to be so and it happened.

The people of Judea were under Roman occupation, and didn't have any authority to have someone executed. Romans killed him.

The "Passion of the Christ" was made by Mel Gibson, who included scenes that weren't in the Bible, but were seen in "visions" by a Catholic mystic in the Middle Ages, someone who had been taught the same prejudices that you have.

Jesus was Jewish, as was Mary, Joseph, and his followers.
