If cigarettes contain a health warning label, don't you think that if Dove Soap caused health problems there would have to be a warning on the label? I've never heard such baloney. Dove soap contains 1/4 cleansing cream and it prevents dry, chapped skin. READ THE LABEL. The FTC requires "truth in advertising."
I've been using DOVE for more years than I care to tell. I've just had my annual physical and my kidneys are in excellent condition and my blood is still flowing, freely, through my veins.
BATHING WITH A GOOD (OR BAD) SOAP WILL NOT CAUSE KIDNEY OR CIRCULATORY PROBLEMS. That comes from what you eat. You "heard" that the pH balance of Dove is awful. Why didn't you do some research for yourself? Not many soaps or cosmetics are pH balanced and it really makes no difference unless a person is highly allergic to almost everything.
How can you help customers find better ways to treat their skin (whatever that means) when you don't even know what you are talking about? HOW MANY customers (I reserve the word "client" for a more educated, licensed, profession) have told you that Dove causes kidney problems and blood clots? One or none?

These are some pretty bizarre things you have heard. I can't say for sure that there isn't someone out there making a soap that has ill effects, but all soaps in the US have to meet certain standards required by the FDA. Small producers can probably exist for years without anyone noticing, but there are no major soap brands sold in the US that cause blood clots or kidney problems. There is no physiological mechanism for Dove bar soap to affect your kidneys or blood unless you are eating the soap. Plain, unscented, Dove is a very mild soap; Neutrogenia is even more mild. Dove is actually one of the few soaps that has a neutral pH. Ivory soap, which is one the purest soaps, has a pH of 9. The harshest soaps with extreme pH are deodorant soaps like Irish Spring. But even the harshest soaps cannot do anything more than irritate the skin or cause and allergic skin reaction in some people.

The only thing I know about Dove is that one of my daughters was very allergic to it and I guess it must be because of that PH balance. I have always heard that soap is not good for skin, especially the face. You should probably study up on it and find out what is a less harsh cleanser to use to advise the clients who ask about it.

I never heard this as a concern. I don't use dove bars of soap but I do use the bodywash. I haven't had any problems with it but I'm healthy and don't have any real sensitivities.
Have you been to Dove's website?
Have you done a google on Dove?
Also, you could check with a local pharmacist. They may know something. They may need to take a look at the ingredients to tell you. You could also speak with a nurse.

Wow! I hope not! I'm 53 and my Mom is a young 79, and we've both been using Dove on our faces FOREVER! I hope you get some good answers from people who know what they're talking about. I'll be watching! All I can tell you is that my Mom's skin has hardly any wrinkles, and no health problems like those you said.
Interesting question deserves a star! Good luck! :)

I had a CUSTOM bar of soap made for me. Sounds expensive but it was only $5....
Go to www.SANDYCREEKSOAP.etsy.com and they will design a bar based on YOUR skin, and conditions. They ask you like 10 questions but it lets them know what herbal / organic ingredients to use. It only takes 2 days. I tried everything, even prescriptions and nothing worked...(I was diagnosed with rosaceae (red splotches) and suffered with it for years - under a Dr’s care)... Until I bought this. I used it twice a day, and it cleared up in like 3 days. I was SHOCKED! (to say the least). Now, since my face is clear I only have to use it once a day. I don't know what’s in it but I started getting a rash on my ankle and it stopped it that night. Really, if you are having problems you should try it. I tell everyone I know about them. They are awesome and VERY helpful with questions.... Hope this helped...

Dove Beauty Bar- Ingredients include sodium cocoylisethionate, stearic acid, sodium tallowate, sodium isethionate, coconut acid, sodium stearate, sodium dodecylbenzene, sodium chloride, titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and Trisodium ENTA.
I recommend any natural soaps with the least amount of chemicals...better for skin and the earth. My fave is all natural Dr. Bronners Pure Castille Soap...absolutely no chemicals....great soap....I especially love the almond scent. Uses natural oils not fragrances cooked up in a lab. check it out. My grandmother has used it forever and looks my mom.

I have used Dove soap for years & have had no problems at all. It makes me feel clean & leaves my skin really soft. I use it on my face too form time to time & the rest of the time, I cleanse my face with Noxzema. Moral of the story, don't believe everything you hear.
