My aunt used to say "Horror of Horrors" until someone told her it sounded like "Whore of Whores"

I had a fundamentalist neighbor who thought it was sinful to say "I swear!" as an exclamation, so she generally said "Well I swanee!" when she was amazed at something.
A rather naive friend of mine use to go around saying "Oh, fudge!" because she thought it was funny. After I explained that it was a homonymic substitute for the "F word" she quit using it.

Yep, I grew up watching way too many cartoons.
