Ok we all know that putting a tree in the garden was ment to be a test for gods new creation adam and eve. So let's all imagine for a second that they decided to ignore the snake and not eat from the tree....then what? Would god have done something else to test them? Or would he have been happy and content just hanging out with Adam and Eve for all eternity? Do you think that if Eve ignored the devil the devil would continue to mess with them? What would he have done next?

Your so far off it's not even funny. The tree of life was put in the garden to substane life for every living thing. The tree of knowledge was there for reasons only God knows. If Eve had ignored the devil, today we would be walking and talking with God instead of answering questions on Yahoo. God wasn't testing Adam & Eve. God was trying to make a garden of Eden for all mankind. The devil would be nothing today, if Eve had only ignored him. There would have never been the first war, no storms, no kind of disagreements, no seperate people, no different languages. It would have been so much better if she had ignored the devil.

No, I think the serpent would have been cast out of the garden, and the Lord would have bless Adam and Eve with an eternal access to the tree of eternal life.
And God would have no more test them, for He would have completely destroy the serpent, Satan and all his fallen angels.

All the descendants of Adam and Eve would have never taste death and sorrow and suffering.
But the true paradise on earth is still the beloved dream of God.
God has a dream... And He will make it a reality :

Isaiah 65:17-19
17 "Behold, I will create
new heavens and a new earth.
The former things will not be remembered,
nor will they come to mind.

18 But be glad and rejoice forever
in what I will create,
for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight
and its people a joy.

19 I will rejoice over Jerusalem
and take delight in my people;
the sound of weeping and of crying
will be heard in it no more. "

Revelation 21: 1- 4
"1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

For now the Kingdom of God with His marvelous blessings is already established in His Body on earth, but the whole world is still under the control of the wicked one.
And everyone can be part of His Body by leaving the ancient life and living the new life, through the new birth, which is the baptism through faith in the Truth and through the water before God and at least before one Child of God.
Jean 17:17
"Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth."

John 8:32
"31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." "

John 3: 5 - 8
" 5Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' 8The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." "

The Word of God is the Truth.
The Holy Scriptures are the Truth.
No one comes to the Father except through the Holy Scriptures.

John 14:6
"Jesus answered,
"I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me."

He who sees the Truth, sees God Himself.
He who understands the Holy Scriptures, sees God Himself.

He who loves the Truth, loves God Himself.
He who loves the Holy Scriptures, loves God Himself.

He who hates the Truth, hates God Himself.
He who hates the Holy Scriptures, hates God Himself.

John 14: 8 - 9
"8Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us."

9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time?
Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.
How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?"

Be blessed. Amen.

I cannot believe you posed this question.
Intelligent people realise that the garden of eden, the snake, and adam and eve was merely a fictitious story made up by someone who THOUGHT he knew how it happened about mankind.
And if eating an apple was a sin, what should they have eaten? There was nothing else around according to the story, and sex is supposed to be known as the `original sin.`
Well, if that was or is true, and I`m sure it isn`t, then god himself must have started it all off by shagging Mary when she was asleep.
If he did that in this day and age he would be done for paedophilic crime as Mary was only 15 at the time.
Don`t believe in all you read, specially in the bible, that fairy-tale book.

They were destined to fail this test. It was only a matter of time. This is not a symbolic story. As a Christian I believe Adam and Eve were real people. It is true the Bible is full of parables told by Jesus. These stories are not true. They are only meant as an example. The story of Adam and Eve is quite different. In Luke, he traces Mary's geneaology back to Adam and Eve. This would not be possible if the story of Adam and Eve were only symbolic.

You also have to remember that God exists outside of time. So, no matter how much longer it would have taken them to eat from the forbidden tree, the amount of time elapsed would have been insignificant to God. They fulfilled their destiny, and not we pay for their sins. However, we have to thank Jesus for saving us from our sins.

According to Christian philosophy, Eve and Adam were predestined to fail, as God had already written the future. Kind of blows the free will thing out of the water, doesn't it?

G-d did not test Adam and Eve. He set boundaries for them, which they violated and then lived with the consequences.

it style of feels god assessments each and every of the time, if he made adam and Eve suited why might god would desire to attempt them, and that they could not have loose will to elect between good and evil via fact they did not comprehend the understanding of fantastic and evil this is the place the tree is on the industry in, quickly as they ate the fruit of the tree they THEN knew what good and evil replaced into, it purely would not make sense. So before they ate from that tree they did not comprehend what replaced into good and evil, does that propose there have been no good or evil or purely Adam and Eve did not comprehend the version, in the event that they did not consume from the tree, to my suggestions, they may well be like robots, zombies with out theory or thinking technique via fact they might not comprehend what good or evil replaced into is this what god had in suggestions for us, puppets, gods playthings or replaced into it arranged up for them to consume the fruit besides, and does god lie as god stated they might die in the event that they consume the fruit, and remember approximately there replaced into the different tree the only of eternal existence, what a series up, actually a series up and what replaced into the serpent it replaced into cursed to consume airborne dirt and dust and for ever flow slowly on its abdomen did serpents have legs in those days, i think of it did us a favour through temping us to earnings understanding of fantastic and evil so shall we decide for ourselves and not stay in lack of understanding.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a test: It was a commandment which Adam and Eve both broke, real or symbolic.
