I left toner in my hair too long, a medium ash blonde over very very light blonde. The bottom of my hair is fine but the top where it was highlighted and much lighter is very gray looking. I know I should not do blonde myself with box color but money was tight and I can usually do it myself without any problems. I've never had my hair too toned before so I'm not sure what to do to fix it. I was thinking a golden blonde over it? or should I wait a couple washes and it will fade out? I'm not sure-going to a professional isn't an option right now, I need a quick fix at home for a very decent price.

I think you're on the right track--the golden tones will probably counteract the ashiness of the toner.

However, a more simpler fix would be to get some powdered bleach and 10 volume developer from the beauty supply store and closely monitor your hair to make sure you don't overbleach it. Since the developer is so gentle, though, it oughta do the trick and get the old toner out.

Meanwhile, if you get all of the toner out, opt for a neutral shade instead of ash OR a golden tone, that way there's no chance of it coming out grey or brassy.
