i am recovering from an eating disorder so i am not use to eating 3 square meals a day is this better or multiple meals (4-6 small) how can i jump start my metabliism

depending on your schedule you may want to try grazing. when the right foods are ingested it can do wonders for the metabolism.

also since you have been on a severely caloric restrictive diet you would want to increase your calories very slowly until you get back to a healthy daily amount. try increasing them by 10% either weekly or bi-weekly until you reach that amount.

Due to past habit of restricted intake, your body might not be able to give you any hunger cues at this point. You'll need to try to eat according to the clock (e.g. breakfast at 8AM, lunch at 12PM, a snack at 3PM etc) to help reestablish a routine. Eventually, your hunger cues will return. Try eating more frequently but in smaller portions. Planning your meals and snacks ahead of time will also help. Good luck on your recovery.
