It all depends on what kind of dish? What kind of meat if any? Stir fry you can use hoisen for a unique slightly sweet oriental taste. You can use oyster sauce which is a nice calm flavor for stir fry dishes, ..... these are darker sauces, if you wish for a light sauce like for certain chicken stir fry dishes try to use chicken stock, with salt, pepper and corn starch.

For a marinade or for basting I like to make a Pineapple Barbecue. It is great for chicken wings on the grill.

Very Easy!!!!

Two parts your favorite barbecue sauce
One part Pineapple juice
Diced Onion
Garlic to taste (Fresh diced or powder will work)
Use Black Pepper or other Peppers for a spicier sauce

Mix up in a bowl and use sauce for basting your favorite grilled meat and or veggies or as a marinade.

Enjoy.
