my alaskan malamute is 9 years old. Malamutes life span is 10 years, although her vet says she probably has a couple more in her. Okay, lately for the last week my malamute can't hold it as long as she used too. The other day I let her out to go potty, brought her back in and then left to go pick up my olderst from school. We were gone 10 minutes at most and she had pooped all over my dining room. Then last night she was let out at 1:30am to go to the bathroom and do her buisness and at 5am we were woken up by her pooping in my bedroom, Just 3.5 hours after she was out.

This is a dog that is in good health that used to sleep from 1am to 6:30am with out having to go. And now she can't hold it more that 3.5 hours. I don't know if its her age of what.

I have taken her to two vets in the past week and all they say is she is healthy. So confused.

It is her age. Malamutes rarely live longer than 10 years. Usually it is their hips and back ends that get them. Try to make her more comfortable and get her out to go more often. You could also try leaving a newspaper covered area where she can "go" and teach her that that is what it is for.

:( Poor puppy, she may be loosing control of her bladder, but that doesn't mean she isn't healthy just getting old. Like humans once dogs reach a certin age, they start loosing control of bladder and bowel functions.
