There is no such thing as God but some people can't bear that thought and the thought that this life is the only one we have so they invent God. Religions are also human inventions designed to make the whole idea of God more palatable.

Religion doesn't really have anything to do with God. Religion is just a group of like-minded people gathering together who believe in the same thing. Now, religion is needed to bring in the lost and people who have not heard about God, so religion is always needed, just not to find God.
God is always here with us, no matter what. I believe He does seek us out by performing great things in our lives, but it is also up to us to accept the responsibility and gift that God is giving us. So to really answer your question, I believe it goes both ways really, but in the end, it is our ultimate decision to either be with Him or not.

Both. God not only seeks us but also sets the stage for us to come to Him. He also made us to seek a greater being. Many seek Him but others substitute false gods; anything from a a false diety to secular things such as money.
Religion is just a 'catch-all' term titling a person's beliefs. True religion is to take care of the widows and orphans and to keep oneself from being spotted by the world and it brings one into a closer relationship with God.

It works both ways. Is there any genuine parent in this world who would not want their children to be with them? Similarly, God being our creator hence being our Father/Mother wants us to be with Him. But He has given us the freewill to merge in Him when we want.
Even we seek God when we realise the emptiness & the futility that the material world has to offer us. That is true seeking of God. Until then we would seek Him in another manner, like for eg. to find solace when problems affect us or prayers to God to fulfill a particular wish or task.
Religion is nothing more than a guide to reach God. Even if we were to concentrate on the Universal Power without the help of any religion, the effect would be the same as with the help of religion to earn the grace of God. It is just the selfish people with vested interests who cry out aloud that a person needs to follow a particular religion to enter the Kingdom of God when in reality He discriminates between none and everyone is open to His love when they desire so. If the Sun can cast its rays equally on everyone, then imagine the creator of the Sun who would pour out His love equally on everyone including plants & animals.

Catholics believe the desire for God is written in the human heart, because each person is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw each person to himself.
I believe that:
+ Most religions are people sincerely seeking God.
+ Judaism and Christianity are God sincerely seeking human beings.
With love in Christ.

Both God and We seek each Other.
Religion help us to understand and get close to God.
God has created, is running, and will destroy the Universe. God is the Origin and Destination of the Universe. You give your Best, God will give thy Best. Ask God for help and forgive, God will help and forgive you. Pray; Worship and Thank God for everything. Remember wherever there is Happiness in Life, there will be Sorrow. To get Happiness, you must master Sorrow. For Success in Life; Believe in Self and God, Learn from Past, Concentrate in Present, Plan for Future. Have control on, be the master of, not the slave of your body, senses, and mind. Gain and Share Utmost Knowledge and Experience. Set your Desire level perfect or OK to be brave, no low to be coward, no high to be cruel. You have rights of Survival, Self Defence, and Freedom.

A good question, I would say that religion is a man made way of worshiping God, a system using rules and regulations they believe are necessary to please God. Whereas spirituality is the worship of God and Christ as led by the Holy Spirit in our lives and not subject to men's rules and regulations but only to God's. I could go on for a few pages detailing the minor differences, but I believe this is the basic crux of the difference's.

We seek God. God already knows where we are and each hair on our head is counted according to him. God's relationship with Religion. That's easy. What was his view on religion when his son was walking the earth? Of the Pharisees and scribes? Pretty much the same deal today I'd suspect. Revelations calls all false religion Babylon the Great or Great Harlot drunk on the blood of saints. You get the picture.

I believe that God is always seeking us. Some of us choose to seek God as well but God is always seeking even those who choose not to seek him.

We cannot have an inclination to seek God unless He sets in motion influences and impresses His Spirit upon the human mind. If there is a man on the face of the earth who has any inclination toward God, it is because of the many influences that are set to work to bear upon his mind and heart.
Jesus said, "I will draw all men unto Myself."
