Wow! Only 10 out of 26 answers are respectable! And most of these respectable answers come from Muslims!! Now I clearly understand why Muslims hate Christians so much!

I know there are good Chrsitians, but nowadays they've become so few. Alas! The world has become a worse place with the increasing number of blind bigots!

The only people who spout such nonsense are the religous right (the pseudo-Chrisstian "fundamentalists"). Real Christians don't make false statements about others' religious beliefs.

Much as christianity is a meld of previous religions with the more recent, albeit that of 2000+ years ago, so islam was a meld of copied christianity, moon worship and local decisions made to suit local conditions and to validate the habits of those in power at the time, including local customs.
The moon plays an important part in the lives of muslims even today, as their calendar is entirely lunar-based. The next month cannot start until an appointed official has viewed the first edge of the crescent of the new moon, even though such dates are mathematically able to be calculated years ahead.
Religion is very weird. Islam is very very weird.

Islam, like Christianity and Judaism, is really a mishmash of several religions syncretized together over centuries. To say it originated as a moon religion is to fundamentally misunderstand the history. There is no single point of origin for Islam, although obviously Muhhamed had the greatest influence.

ladies and Gentlmen,
Please, read my answer before you judge me and it, and give me a thump down.

James dean, I am not judging you or your religion, I am just answering your question. I do understand if you don't pick my answer as the best. In fact, I don't expect you will. As a Muslim you probably would think doing that is against your religion. My answer will be from facts.
*******

First, don't ask something if you are not ready to hear or read the answer without getting angry. Are you ready!

I don't want to get you angry, but the likely when you get the answer, not just from me, but from everyone whom you asked you are going to get angry, because it is not what you want to hear. You question seems filled with anger already. Just reality.

Start with the first thing a Muslim must do before they become one. Submit to Allah and proclaim, that there is no GREATER god than Allah.... Greater than who! ask yourself, if you don't know look it up. When Muhammad started preaching, he broke all 360 statues of all gods, and told them they should worship one God, and that is Allah. One of the 360 of the statues was Allah, the moon god. Did you know that!

The pagan Arabs worshipped the Moon-god Allah by praying toward Mecca several times a day; before and during Muhammad's life time and before he started preaching. making a pilgrimage to Mecca; walking around the temple of the Moon-god called the Kabah seven times; kissing the black stone that some believe it once was white, and changed to black because it was taking on the sinns of all those who kissed it; killing an animal in sacrifice to the Moon-god; throwing stones at the devil that tempted Ibrahim to kill his own child; fasting for the month which Begins and Ends with the crescent moon; giving alms to the poor, etc. The Muslim's claim that Allah is the God of the Bible and that Islam arose from the religion of the prophets and apostles is refuted by solid, overwhelming archeological evidence. Islam is nothing more than a revival of the ancient Moon-god cult. It has taken the symbols, the rites, the ceremonies, and even the name of its god from the ancient pagan religion of the Moon-god.

Why do you start Ramadan with the Moon! and end it with the Moon! why is the symbol of the Moon is on top of every Mosques!
Before you get fuming, Christians are not the only one who said that. Also, they say GOD. Why do you take it as an insult!
I don't know if Allah is or isn't the moon GOD. I am still learning.

God Bless you all.

As a Christian, I have never once claimed that Muslims worship a Moon-God. The Muslim religion is a very strong and deep religion with great teachings in it as well. Muslims get a bad name for the radicals that are in the religion, as the same thing happens with Christians as well.

Please clarify to something human beings why the crescent moon is on the suitable of each Mosque? Please, refute the shown and authentic history: Mohammad's family have been worshipers of the moon god of the Arabians and have been portion of the crowd that maintained the Kaaba stone in Mecca before he ever had his "visions." it particularly is someway remarkable that the hot call for god that Mohammad presented, someway grew to become into so on the factor of the call of the god he had consistently worshiped (Al Lat) and that his new faith additionally risk-free worshiping a similar Kaaba stone! it particularly is merely approximately as though he had merely made all of his new issues as much as someway experience what he grew to become into already doing, to boot as making himself the main serious guy in his faith. EDIT: Wait... you do no longer seem to be attentive to your guy or woman faith ok. there have been NO Muslims before Mohammad got here alongside. in accordance to Mohammad, no person had appropriate been instructed the actuality approximately Allah, so how ought to Mohammad consistently have worshiped Allah? you actual might desire to benefit your guy or woman faith greater advantageous before you declare to be attentive to plenty approximately it. by utilising the way, the only ones that talked approximately as god "Allah" before Mohammad have been ones conversing Arabic, because of the fact that "Allah" is fairly basically the Arabic observe for god. So your complete different factor is moot and nonsensical.

Muhammad named his god "Allah" and Muhammad picked the crescent moon god from 360 idols either of Tanit or Diana. Ishmael's children worshiped pagan gods and goddesses and Muhammad picked the name Allah from one of the 360 idols. The crescent moon symbol was established later.

The star and crescent symbol itself is very ancient, dating back to early Sumerian civilization (Old Semiramis the evil wife of Nimrod) where it was associated with the sun god and moon goddess (one early appearance dates to 2100 BC
and later, with goddesses Tanit and even Diana. The symbol remained in near constant use, and was eventually adopted into the battle-standard of the Ottoman Dynasty, who are mainly responsible for its association with Islam.

Old Semiramis, Nimrod and Tammuz who established Babel/Babylon and started the rebellion against God after the flood of Noah. They spawned so many gods and goddesses that the world to this day still worships this idolatry instead of the Creator God.

The Moon symbol was adopted by the Turks after the Byzantine Empire was defeated by Islam.

It came 700 years after Mohammed.

The Christians are just searching for anything to attack and they thought this was a weak point.

The Crescent symbolizes the defeat of the Eastern Orthodox Christianity.

The Byzantines were defeated, the Persians were defeated and that only leaves the Romans left.

The koran does not tell the truth about the origin of allah. If it did, then NO body would follow it.

This is plain historical facts. Study the pagan religions back then, and do a bit of research. Nobody changed anything just for the sake of making the koran look bad - that stuff was there before mohammed came along!

Additional note to bongeret: That truly IS a peaceful religion: "INFIDELS!! We are being of chopping off your heads!

" WOW! Thanks for the religious news update!
