Did He see them as a threat? Was he being defensive?
If I wrote a book on flowers, I wouldn't include a chapter on the people that like to step on them.

They say that, because unfortunately, vulnerable, uneducated people buy into that sort of nonsense. It behooves them for two reasons. First, it makes them feel like they can pat themselves on the back and feel superior. Second, it fills the need to hurl childish insults at those who don't buy into their completely illogical stories. It's equivalent to what happens when a child gets mad after being caught lying. ("Well...you're a poopy-head!")
I, personally, don't put much stock in an insult thrown at me by uneducated, superstitious, middle-eastern sheep herders who lived over two thousand years ago.

Well put, if you had to profess yourself in a book, you would probably put a chapter in about people that opposed you (in school or whatever, you got into fights with certain people) but you wouldn't bother putting in a chapter about the people who didn't know you were even there....Very good

Because he already tried telling us stories of love, fear, torture and shame, and the real torture and murder didn't work, so when those things fail to work he pulls out the big guns.

Name calling and an insult to our intelligence. NaNa nana nanaaaaaaaa. Nice one god. Way to put on the convincing argument.

ps-that doesn't work either.

pss- isn't this proof that the bible couldn't have been "his" word? He comes across as a school yard bully, not very awe inspiring or convincing to me.

Why did you read the bible if you are an atheaist? If you don't believe in it, then don't preach about it.

PS Write a book on flowers, send me a copy, and i'll waste no time reading it.
