actually show an initial interest in God and just let atheists go on their way?
Is arguing over something like this really worth the time and effort?
Christians want to save people of course, but isn't the time better spent on people who are interested in hearing what we have to say?
Does arguing get us anywhere, or does it just irritate you and get you off center?
Are we supposed to fight against people that hate us or dislike our beliefs, or should we instead fight for what we love and who we love and not waste the time we have so little of on people who are bothered by us?
If someone is willing to have a decent conversation, then by all means debate, but why beat your head against a wall?
God will call who he has chosen and if they are chosen then their heart will soften, but we should pay attention to the more open fields of the world.
Just an opinion.
What do you think?

Whoa, i walked away from my computer and came back and now have 30 responses to my question. To tell you the truth I'm not going to read the answers because there's not going to be anything new to them. I already know what all the different responses to this question are going to be. I really just wanted to make a statement and get people thinking instead rehashing the same old biased opinion, which ever way they may be, back and forth at each other. So I'll send this one to the voters.

Do remember that Christ said to his disciples that if a village rejected them they should turn away and wipe the dirt off their sandals, signifying that they would have nothing to do with them.
Living a good life and being an example to people, or answering their questions when they really want answers, or having an honest tactful debate with someone who isn't close minded is great, but arguing to prove a point constantly nagging them may only harden their hearts. Christ would want us to act rather than speak more often than not, what do you say?

So now that I've got everyone's attention with this question, I want to ask the question I really want answers to: Does anyone know of a music question that can convert guitar audio input into patch files in a program that imitate other instruments like a piano, trumpet, violin or other various effect-like sounds. I don't want a MIDI guitar or a guitar synthesizer I just need a program that does all the work for me. I've looked at Cubase and Reason but haven't used them enough to figure out if they do that or not. Direct to someone who might know if you don't know the answer. I'd appreciate it.

Trying to convert anybody is a bad idea if you 're just using your own supposed superior interpretations of the bible by scaring people into belief.

The only way Christians ever truly help non-believers become believers -- true believers, not just fundamentalists -- is by loving them.

That is what Jesus told us to do.

Are you really here to convert me?
That's a joke!!!
Any atheist who gives up on his/her stance on the existence of any gods will not be doing that as a result of continual garbage being spouted. The only way - and there is only ONE way - that atheists will fall in line behind you is when you prove that your god actually exists at all and we KNOW that will be impossible for you.
The other aspect is that, without atheists being present here on these pages, your debates would be extremely boring. All very one-sided UNLESS you could attract the Buddhists, the Sikhs, the Hindus, the Jews, the Muslims and whoever else is out there with any interest in talking to you and taking a contrary position. You DO need someone taking an opposite view to make a debate worthy.

Religion is a boil on the backside of humanity. There is a cure. Reality.

Many atheists were religious at one time, mate. However, some became atheist because every time their religion and science or history contradicted each other, science & history had all the evidence. Others stopped believing in religion because of the atrocities committed in the name of (and according to certain religious books, by) the god they were supposed to worship.
There are probably numerous other reasons, as well, but these two seem most prominent.

Anyway, that didn't really answer your question... what I was getting at is that most atheists aren't going to return to what they see as an illogical belief just because you tell them that an invisible god loves them. They simply do not, and cannot, believe in something supernatural.
You're better off talking to people who have an interest in God, honestly.

(And as long as you discuss religion instead of argue about it, and are willing to listen to & consider another's views, I'll even be willing to talk about it with you.)

Jesus sacrificed his life for all mankind not just believers or a race of people, the problem is that we have over 3,000 different religions all teaching a different Jesus Christ and now in our modern days teaching that certain sins that God says he hates the church will bless them. The only time we will all come together is when we hear the real truth of Jesus and this is evident by Revelation 14: 6-7- A Angel will fly in heaven preaching the good news and many will believe and turn around.

Hmmm
Well I think we should fight and work for the truth everywhere we go. A time is coming no man can work, or there won't be an opportunity to speak the truth and no I don't think we should 'argue" with atheists but I also don't think we should allow what we believe to be 'darkness and lies" take over this place or any other by just giving up, on purpose.

I can tell you that the Christians here would never convince me to join their faith, given their sales tactics. Threatening me with hell? Mocking my beliefs? No, thanks. Try leading by example.

What I don't understand is that Jesus never told his followers to harass people. In fact, just the opposite. If you come preaching, and the people there don't accept you, you're supposed to leave that place and shake the dust from your feet. What's more, just because you go around acting all pious and holy, that doesn't guarantee you anything. "Not all who say to me 'Lord, Lord' shall enter the kingdom." "Judge not, lest ye be judged." "Why do you notice the speck in your brother's eye, but ignore the plank in your own?"

Maybe you should be spending more of your time and energy living a Christ-like life and tending to your own salvation, instead of pestering everyone else.

Also keep in mind that many, if not most, unbelievers here were once part of your religion. It's not as if we don't already know all about it.

Agree with you.It makes sense to work where it's possible to achieve some thing. But who is going to tell fanatic and aggressive Christians that it's perhaps easier to sell a refrigerator to Eskimo than convert an atheist back to the faith? And look at the acrimony and animosity created in the process, which even affects the bystanders or plain spectators and may leave negative impressions about Christianity in their otherwise non committal mind on the issue.

this is all area of the "tremendous fee" - pass out and spread the sturdy information. All Christians do it, to their own tiers. it might want to be like asking a Muslim, "Why do you pray diverse circumstances an afternoon?" this is only area of their faith. Or asking why a Hindu thinks cows are so major. this is area of their faith. in case you requested a Christian on the line about their faith, that that they had, to some degree, allow you to understand about their adventure. once you ask a question on Yahoo solutions, your profile is coming over to a lot of human beings. Plus, we've Paul in our historic previous - the guy who spread the sturdy information everywhere in the worry-free international on the time. He replaced into quite hostile to Christianity before everything - even as the leaders of the time stoned Stephen for being a Christian, Paul held their cloaks and watched! So if Paul might want to have a conversion adventure, we reason all and distinct can. it is why we attempt.

Your supposed to spread the gospel to everyone. So, that everyone will have a chance to hear the TRUTH. (WORD OF GOD) Like it says in the bible, that the gospel will be spread to every single person So, that everyone will be given time to either ACCEPT IT OR REFUSE IT. Then the LORD will be coming soon for JUDGMENT DAY. And it says that to try to save people as though like snatching them from the very flames of hell itself. Don't argue over it, speak in loving kindness to those who don't believe and those that do, like the LORD would.
LIFE - LOVE = ZERO

I think your first mistake is "arguing" with an athiest trying to get them to see your point of view. That only further re-inforces their "lack" of belief in God. The best way to open anyones heart is to lead by example. If you are a person of true character, faith, honesty and integrity, you have done more than you may know to soften the hearts of those who get to know you.

Tater,
Generally, all that an argument will do is irritate a person so that they are more difficult to talk with about spiritual matters. I do NOT believe that an argument ever solves anything. We are to teach and if a person asks a question, I suggest that we answer them truthfully and honestly but without ANY Judgment on our part. They must make their own choice and hopefully in time they will be led toward the WORD of GOD but that initial choice must be theirs and not ours. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks 4 Listening,
