It happened to me. And I was disgusted, but I didn't have the nerve to say anything (which I now regret)

I would go grab a stack of satanic bibles, start handing them out and see where things go...

Why were you so disgusted? Isn't it the Atheists who claim we should let kids/people choose for themselves? Are you saying that if it were in your power, would you prefer to shield every human being from every religious message starting at birth, for fear they might actually believe something you don't?

To answer your question, I would be thinking, since we live in the USA and this is a free country, and (if) they are not on school property, they are certainly free to do what they want. I would be praising them.

In the same scenario, if they were handing out Atheism propaganda, again, they are certainly free to do what they want. I would just be disappointed and prompted to pray for them.

Like another poster has said if this was on school property then it needs to be reported immediately.

If it was off school property, then I see no problem with it, same as the jehovah witness's or the mormon's handing out their propaganda.

Simply decline taking the book, whether or not you choose to engage them in a conversation would be up to you. Part of being a christian is spreading the "word", in their misguided eyes they are simply doing what they believe to be a mandate from their god...I know seems silly to me too.

I read every ones post...

my son was taken by his father and was missing for 16 years..the EX claimed all Christians are crazy...

those kind people at the school gave my young son the only Bible he ever had which he had to hide for fear of punishment..

He 19 years old now and found his way home to his mother....that little Bible might offend you but for many lost children it is their life line....

It varies depending on the situation.

If its off school property then its not really my concern.

If its on school property Id be in the office demanding that it stop. Schools arent the place for religious propaganda.

Usually when they do it around here they get permission from the neighbors to stand just barely off school property and do it.

If it was on-campus, I'd walk up to them and inform them that they were in violation of certain laws, as well as trespassing (if they didn't have the Visitor's passes that most schools require).
If they were standing off-campus, I'd stand across the exit from them, facing them of course, and hand out copies of various other religious texts (and Chick Tract parodies). Maybe they'd get the hint.

Get out Origin of the Species and ask them to discuss the finer points of the Scientific Theory of Evolution

On school property, I'd go to the office and demand that they do something to remove the men from school property. Let them stand 2 feet off of the property, that's fine.

If they aren't on school property, I'd have no problem with it. It's up to the students to take the bible or not. I wouldn't endorse it, but I wouldn't try to stop them either.

They were doing it on school property then I'd b*tch unless the school is allowing other religions to hand out flyers too. I already had to deal with the mormons doing this at my kids' elementary school. Of course, they didn't return my calls but they never did it again (at least so far).

I would think good for them and hope the children would read them. I was given a Gideon bible in secondary school. my children were each given a bible when leaving primary school I think it is a good idea no one is making them read it.

Depends on whether or not they are on school property.

If they aren't, they have every right to pass out Bibles-so long as they are NOT trying to force them upon anyone.
