The Jews were supposed to pave the way for many prophets; many of them were their kinsmen; like Zacharias, John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. Despite that the Jews showed hatred and disbelief towards those authentic messengers of God, and they even attempted to kill them; some of whom were actually executed at the Jews' requests.

The Jews were also ordered to believe in the Prophet Muhammad. While in Arabia, the Jews would tell the pagan Arabs that they will be the ones who will believe in the last prophet (ie Muhammad); yet when Muhammad came, the Jews disbelieved him and even allied themselves with the pagan Arabs against him and his followers!!!

While still a Jew, I used to hear a brilliant saying from a Muslim scholar: "The countless prophets sent to the Jews does not reveal their greatness; rather it shows how disobedient and astray they were; as God would send them messengers as warners consecutively!" The Muslims on the other hand needed a single messenger, Muhammad.

Despite the fact that I was born while most (if not all) Muslim countries were third world countries, my best friend (who was also a Jew) used to admire Islam greatly. He used to tell me that Islam is the most masculine and virile of all religions. Throughout history, Muslims as the Mamluks and Ottoman Turks appeared as the world's most virile people. I agreed with my friend. Both of us were sure that Judaism was an obsolete faith. This is why we agreed to convert to Islam. I do not deny that I had some reluctance first, but the persistence of my friend, along with my inner deisre to be a Muslim, not to mention the visions that I personally saw, all these things made me decide to be a Muslim.

Yes! Muslims are the chosen people of God. You do not have to belong to a certain race in order to be a Muslim. We go to the Mosque and see whites, blacks, Asians, etc all of them sitting beside each other with no one speaking about his race or colour; all of us are the slaves of the One True God; ALLAH.

Quran Verse:
[b/Israel 17:2] And We gave Moosa the Book, and made it a guidance for the Descendants of Israel that, "Do not appoint anyone as a Trustee besides Me."

[b/Israel 17:3] The descendants of those whom We boarded along with Nooh; he was indeed a grateful bondman.

17:4] We addressed the Children of Israel in the scripture: "You will commit gross evil on earth, twice. You are destined to fall into great heights of arrogance.

It was the Prophet Mohammed himself who attempted to negate the positive image of the Jew that had been prevalent earlier. According to historian Bernard Lewis, the Prophet Mohammed's original plan had been to induce the Jews to adopt Islam; when Mohammed began his rule at Medina in AD 622 he counted few supporters, so he adopted several Jewish practices-including daily prayer facing toward Jerusalem and the fast of Yom Kippur-in the hope of wooing the Jews. But the Jewish community rejected the Prophet Mohammed's religion, preferring to adhere to its own beliefs, whereupon Mohammed subsequently substituted Mecca for Jerusalem, and dropped many of the Jewish practices.

Jews faced the danger of incurring the wrath of a Muslim, in which case the Muslim could charge, however falsely, that the Jew had cursed Islam, an accusation against which the Jew could not defend himself. Islamic religious law decreed that, although murder of one Muslim by another Muslim was punishable by death, a Muslim who murdered a non-Muslim was given not the death penalty, but only the obligation to pay "blood money" to the family of the slain infidel. Even this punishment was unlikely, however, because the law held the testimony of a Jew or a Christian invalid against a Muslim, and the penalty could only be exacted under improbable conditions--when two Muslims were willing to testify against a brother Muslim for the sake of an infidel.

the jews were slaves ?
if u are refering to the time of pharoah , yes but God who doesn't like injustice and cruelity he have sent them moses and favoured them not only over the ppl of pharoah but over the wholrd at that time , he compansated them for the tyrant they have faced......
but that doesn't goes for all times.

God tells in the Quran that he honored the childern of isreal on other nations at that time ,

O Children of Israel! Remember My Favour which I bestowed upon you and that I preferred you to the 'Alamîn (mankind and jinns) (of your time-period, in the past)

and also in the Quran God says what it means , that which make a person better than other is....:

O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allâh is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. one of the Muttaqûn (pious ) Verily, Allâh is All-Knowing, All-Aware.

God did not favor them over the Jews.

They inherit some of the blessings as they happen to be Abraham's children through Ishmael, albeit not the promised one, because Abraham was blessed.
