From studying and just applying some reason I've come up with the following structure of the new testament:

1 - Gospel accounts of Jesus with Mark being a bit more realistic.

2 - Gnostic-like gospel of John and his tripped out book Revelations

3 - Everything else was penned by Paul or his friends. Even 1 Peter was penned by Silvanus/Silas, a friend of Paul.

4 - James - sermon but is in contrast to Paul's teachings.

5 - Books not included because they didn't jive with the Council of Nicea's doctrines.

It would be great if every sermon given in a church was directly inspired by God. But the writings of the New testament were! Therefore they stand out as far mor than mere opinions or sermons. Books not included because they were not divinely inspired (or at least could not be identified as divinely inspired with certainty) are not part of the New Testament. They are simply other writings from the same time period, and there are hundreds of them.

It's all inspired by God, but written by man. Therefore, some of man's biases may have creeped into it.

The thing I find perplexing is that those who claim this is all directly from God don't follow everything in the Bible. So, if something is directly from God, how do they excuse the fact that they don't follow it? An example would be Paul's teaching that women should be quiet in church and if they have any questions they should ask their husbands.

There's always an excuse to pick and choose, but denial about picking and choosing while condemning others for picking and choosing. How can this behavior be holy?

Opinions written decades to centuries after the alleged events. Isn't it kind of strange that history contains no record of THE event when it actually was alleged to have occured? Hmmm, sounds like a myth to me.
