It is best to wait for 3 hours to eat something becuase you have full movement of your mouth then . Drink water and rest until then .

It is best to wait until you are no longer numb because you will bite your cheek, tongue, or your lip and you won't even know it. You also want the filling to get hard before you start eating so you don't crack it. If you had an amalgam(silver)filling done then this will take a few hours to get hard. If you had a composite(tooth colored)filling done then you will be good to eat when you start feeling your mouth again because this filling is light cured in the office so it is already hard.

The reason they say this, is because when you are numb you could be chewing on your tongue, lips, or cheeks and not know it. But trust me you would feel it when it wears off. Eat some jello or yogurt or a milk shake. Some thing that you dont really have to chew.

You can go on and eat. It's been long enough. Just don't eat anything real hard or crispy.for now. You don't want to push on that filling too hard. Have breakfast and enjoy! Good luck to you.

You can have food now, but it will be very awkward to eat and food and fluids might drizzle out of your mouth. So, if you do it before the numbness disappears, make sure you don't have anyone watching you.

Then I'm sure since what I believe you're saying it's been an hour an a half that you can go ahead and eat.
