Murder doesnt necessarily equal killing. If a cop is defending himself and has to shoot a suspect, it isnt murder. Likewise when our country goes to war and our soldiers are forced to kill someone, it isnt murder.

Even the Bible states there is a time for war. God even sent his people to war with other nations. So there is always a loophole in almost every law given by God. Murder and Killing in War are actually two different things, even in the Bible.

And "us soldiers never kill anyone" is such a load... How the hell are we fighting a war if our soldiers don't kill those who are trying to kill them? Geez, at least be reasonable about this.

Yes. I never saw any asterisk after the commandment prohibiting murder.

Please don't tell me they were just following orders. There's no draft -- every single one of those soldiers CHOSE to be in the military. There's also such a thing as conscientious-objector status, which anyone with any moral fiber would have chosen rather than participate in this illegal invasion.

A soldier fighting in combat is not committing murder. A soldier who is fighting against the corrupt regime and brutal dictatorship of Saddam Hussein is described in this passage of the Bible.

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

I don't know about in that commandment, but legally, murder is not the same thing as killing in self-defense or killing during warfare.
