Fry it in a pan with just a little oil, medium heat, and turn it over to cook all sides. It helps if you use a knife to make some diagonal slits on the sausage before frying.
A variation to this is to throw in some chopped onions and bell peppers while the sausage is frying, and mix them up a couple of times, until the sausage is cooked and the vegetables are caramelized.

what kind of sausage is it?
If it's something like Boudain, you need to steam it or bake it.
If it's like breakfast sausage, put it in a skillet and cook like normal.or put it in the oven, my husband does this with his Jimmy Dean and it's so much better than pan fry. Sounds weird I know, but I've seen it, and done it and it's good.
If it's like Kielbasa, you can put it on the bbq pit, or pan fry or bake.

There are many kinds of sausage,can you be a little more specific? Is it in a casing?Most can be pan fried anyway.

just break out a pan and fry if it is bulk sausage you will have to pat it out or make some sauage gravy and biscuits

you can boil, fry, bake or grill it the key is to bring the temperature of the meat to 160degrees to know it is safe to eat. Enjoy!
