We would like some excuse to believe there is no Supreme Being and in that way we could get back to eating, drinking, merry-making, revelry, and maybe even making money. But, we cannot say there was anything there before God, because how could there be anything? Where did anything come from? We can't say there was nothing or a spiritual power and then God became manifest. But, somehow there is a Supreme Being and we are all His parts and parcels.
God is simply not so easy to understand. This material existence goes through cycles and changes. This means birth as well as death and destruction. If you want to get out of all the misery, death and destruction; then you have to qualify to enter God's eternal abode where there is all love, loving, and beauty.

Astrophysists say the origin for the matter is the fundamental proton particle Hydrogen. But how this Hydrogen has come into existance? Something what you see in the material world cannot originate it-self from nothing. For any thing what you see, there is a creator or generator. Any thing that is created is organised and destroyed later in course of time!A 'thing'exists. Can any thing exist by it-self? There must be some "cause" for any 'effect'. The material world or Universe is the 'effect' for which a 'cause' must exist even according the rational scientific prescription. If you are devoid of 'consciousness' though you have all your body organs their functioning is missing. Your body the instrument are futile as they cannot perform anything. The electromotive force for the successful functioning of the body the 'consciousness' the unknown must have been there.
This abstract 'consciousness' which is manifesting it-self into various aspects of the existing world whtever we see and observe. This 'consciouness' ignites the spark of life within us. Devoid of this the body is dead and is simply a corpse! What is this 'consciousness'and who breathed this 'consciouness' into our lifeless physical body? This Universal Consciouness is very much responsible for the very dynamism and activity in the universe. From the dormant subtle state the universe evolved into an active Dynamic state as this 'consciouness' imposed itself on to this an otherwise inactive- achetana- material world. This cosciousness is all pervading, omniscient, omnipreset and omnipotent!. The entire world or universe has originayed from it-self.. The world or Universe originated from this Consciousness similar to the way the silk thread originates from the silk-worm or the cob-web originates from the spider. The wise named this as Univrsal Divine Consciousness (UDC) and the devotees referred to GOD! as this is the generator, organiser and destroyer. The 'pragna' within you is the consciousness and the same 'pragna' is existing in the entire universe. This has been realised by the great visionaries. God need not manifest it-self only into human form. In all forms it has manifested it-self and showing its power of the very existance of the known and unknown to us!
Because my eye cannot visualise an electron I cannot deny the existance of the fundamental. An electron microscope has the power to reveal it and its power! The physical eye cannot visualise this so-called UDC or the Constant Integrated Awareness(CIA). The great sages with their powerful tool called 'wisdom'( Gnyanam or knowledge - this is different from the term knowledge we generally and frequently use in our daily life) use 'realised' the existance of this transcendental 'thing' called Universal Divine Consciouness.
The very fact I have not seen my great..great..great grand-father with the physical eye I cannot deny his existance because it is a simple logical deduction. Without that 'him' I have no existance. But I'm existing which is a fact. So my great..........great ...grand father also must have existed!
Every moment of your 'breath' you are experiencing this consciousness all through your body. You are able to breathin or breathout. Every thing what you see is the
manifestation of this! For a wise person this is that UDC or CIA. For a person with no such high level perception this is God!.That which you feel, comprehend, realise is nothing but God because it only with its power can manifest into multitudes of living or even non-living things in this entire Universe. The non-dualistic concept or nature of this magnificent Universe is this Consciousness. There is only one such magnificent consciousness but it appears to be many because of the dualistic mind which is serving as a big mirror. All the things seen and perceived by us are nothing but the reflections of that super-Consciouness. The mundane people call this as God!
We with our ignorance and innocence questioning the existance of God. But It never attempted to prove its own existance, because the very existance of your-self is the proof. That one has to experience it!.Tons and tons of logic cannot reveal the taste of the most delicious dish which you like the most. Only one has to taste it and experience it!. Thus God cannot be proved as He/ It (whichever way you would like to address) as He/ It is not confined to certain geometrical co-ordinates. You cannot catch him with your material and physical strength as you catch a mysterious animal with a great effort from deep forests, chain it and show it to people against a $ ticket only to confine this animal to a zoo as an exhibit for fun and frolick!
Show me the place in the entire Universe where this
'cosciousness' is not existing in some form or other. The level and tendencies of your inner consciousness will ultimately reveal the Universal Divine Consciousness the GOD. Great sages both in the east and thewest have realised this. Their attempts to 'know' this were sincere to the core with the greatest committment.
Had I bored you with a long explanation I may be pardoned! Sairam!

You can't that is why it is called 'faith'- a strong belief. Though some people may of experienced a miracle and could use that as proof. Equally you can't prove there is no god, you could only hold a belief that there is nothing.

That is what faith is. 'Religious folk' do not need to prove the existance of their god because they have faith that he exists. This is something that personally I find difficult to understand but it does make it damned hard to argue with them. I demand proof they just tell me that they 'know'!

I wouldn't.
I'd simply tell you that I know my God exists. My God tells me that the world will hate me and that the naysayers won't accept it, so I'd be prepared for you not to accept that on faith.
I don't understand why so many Christians are getting their panties in a wad over this. If you truly believe what the bible says, then the responses of those who are not Christian shouldn't surprise you, and Christians should continue to, as directed by their God and the Bible, show unconditional love and respect to all -- especially those who do not believe -- just as our God shows unconditional love and respect to us.
The whole endless debate about the existence of God and one side making fun of the other and vice versa is really quite saddening.

Not a single one of them has ever been able to do so yet.
Why? Well, the answer is simple; it doesn't exist.
Ugh I cannot believe that someone is ill-educated enough to ask " How would you prove he didnt exist if your life depended on it? "
It's not up to US to prove his existence you know. It's up to YOU to do so. Look up "burden of proof" then come back.

You just cant, its a belief to keep you straight and humanized in life, otherwise people will go crazy rapeing and murdering people cause they know they would get away with it all. The name God is given so that people know that someone might actually punish them for their behavior!!!
NOW WILL THEY GET PUNISHED IS ANYONE'S GUESS!
