A Christian is one who has placed their trust in the PERFORMANCE of ANOTHER, namely Jesus Christ. His death, burial and resurrection is Gods provision for securing YOUR and MY eternal security and reconciliation with Himself. Taking God at His Word concerning how HE makes a man righteous, "not by works lest any man should boast", is how one becomes a member of the Body of Christ...the NEW CREATION.

God places you into the living entity called "the church which is His Body" and seals you until the day of your redemption.

We are saved by GRACE alone, thru faith alone, in the finished work of Christ alone.

Hi there, here we go .....

1. A True or real Christian is forgiven, in other words he/she has been to the cross and have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior;
2. You must remember that true/real Christians are nor perfect they are striving to perfection;
3. The don't know the Word of God alone they know the author and have a relationship with Him;
4. You can be in the Church all you life but never become a Christian.
5. You can stay in a garage for a year you will never become a motor vehicle;
6. It is a choice by faith;
6. Now faith is:
By Faith
1Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2This is what the ancients were commended for.

Take care

Can't help you there. My father was an Anglican priest and he never said he was a Christian. What he did say was the he tried every day to be a Christian.
Personally, I've never met a Christian. Tolerance, humility, peace, understanding, anti-discrimination. If you can tick all these, every moment, then you might be on the right road - but only on the right road - you still won't have reached the goal.

C.S. Lewis says, in the introduction to Mere Christianity (a collection of radio talks on the subject of Christianity, which has converted many people) that we shouldn't haggle over the term Christian. We should accept that people who claim to be Christians ARE Christians. Whether they are good Christians or bad Christians is another matter. He compares it to the use of the word "gentleman", which once merely denoted a rank or station, then began to be used to describe moral character, and so became muddled and meaningless.

I may be misrepresenting his argument slightly, so it's best to go to the source.

A true Christian has love. Love for God, and his fellow man wherever in the world he is. He is not racial, does not cheat or lie, is honest in all things {including paying all taxes} treats the planet with respect. He is trustworthy in all things and follows Jesus footsteps. He also preaches about the Kingdom as Matthew 24:14 says.

Well Christian means Christ-like. A Christian is someone forgiven of their sins Thru the blood of Jesus Christ. One that knows they are not good and do not deserve the love that God bestowed to them. One that strives to be more like Christ every day. One that wants to tell others about the good news of God's free gift. One that wants others to see Jesus shine forth in their life. Lofty goals and hard to maintain but you asked. I try and fail alot but keep trying and thru Jesus ill show love and compassion and be an effective witness for him.

The word "CHRISTIAN" Is to be Christ-like............
However, You Must be Born-again To Wear the Name in Sincerity. Many people call themselves Christian But are not Born-again in the Shed Blood Of Jesus............
I I Cor.5:I7 > "If a Man BE BORN-AGAIN HE IS A NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST."
You Will Know, because You No-longer "WANT" To SIN.

There are different types of Christians.
There are differences in doctrine, basic beliefs.
There are Catholics. There are many types of Protestants. There are Orthodox. There are Evangelicals (such as Baptists and Pentecostals). Then there are fringe groups who are barely Christian at all, when you examine their true beliefs...Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses. And they are the ones knocking on doors!
What kind are you?
