My question was about marriage. I recently gave birth to my son but I am not married to his father. I prayed that god would give me someone to love because I was really depressed and my boyfriend came at the same time. I believe my son was a gift from god. He saved my life. They told me I was trash and that God is ashamed. I want to get married to him because i love my boyfriend i believe that the union we have shouldnt just be on paper we are already married in my eyes.

This isn't always the case. the christians who "bashed" you are the kind of christians that never see their own faults. they think that their high and mighty just because they belong to a "Larger" and "Powerful" group. these people are the kind that Jesus condemned he said. "Before you take out the dirt on your neighbors eye, first take out your own"... look at your own faults before you look at others'.

PS: what was the question u posted maybe i could help. :-)

Why did the Catholic Church make mistakes and never apology? If people think they are on the side of God, why are they wrong due to the bible? ARROGANT! The head of the religion act arrogantly, so do its followers.
However they never realized, the church is merely organisation of human that is bounded to human error and sin.
I am a Christian and not a christian, yet I am wise enough to know that the God doesnt take side, but people do. In your case, people dont like differences and condamn what they dont understand and cant see through. Little are they aware that the God asked us not to judge each other but love each other for a must to live a good life.

Can you direct us to the original question that generated such a to-do? That way we can make sure our answers aren't based on something told to us that was presented out of context.

Thanks, I will star your question and check back to see if you have provided a link to that previous question and then will answer.

*********Thanks for putting the gist of the original question up there.

I think that the answer to your question can be found in WJWNB's answer below I

Some people are just bad seeds like them. They follow the Old Testament and completely ignore the word of Christ. They ARE NOT true Christians. They do not speak for us all. They use the Bible as an excuse to be cruel, bigoted and judgmental. Please don't let folks like the person I already mentioned ruin the good news of Jesus Christ for you. If they were atheists they would be just as cruel. It has nothing to do with religion.

Best of luck to you, dear.

Looking over your answers to the question posed, I would say that there is only really one that had far too much to say. Try to grow a thicker skin Sweetie! Most of the answers showed genuine concern for you. If you put out a question that has potential to polarize the opinion, you are bound to rattle the cage of a few angry people. They shouldn't be so judgemental but the forum is easy for that to happen.....Sorry for the nastiness! Try to think of your glass as more than half full!!

The tangible reward of becoming Christian is that it allows you to behave however you want. That's a large part of the appeal of belief in god.

Since religions can't actually deliver on the "eternal life in Heaven" schtick, this "go ahead and behave like a child, and we'll say it's a noble defense of god" thing is an important motivator.

As for me - I would like to know what denomination you are.
And how old you are.

Often times our maturity as Christians shows in the training we have. For me - I was raised Catholic, fell away (atheist of sorts) and returned to God after He called me. I was fortunate to have responded, because, like you - I turned to Him at the right time in my life for answers. He was my salvation.

I suppose that's where some feel they have the right to tell you how to think and feel. Only God knows your heart. The difference is in how it's delivered. Everyone is a sinner - NO ONE is equal to God.
The laws of God are constant. The only thing that matters is that we understand that for every action there is a consequence, whether good or bad, and how it fits into God's plan for redemption of the world....
I know I know... it's heavy. The more we think the deeper it gets :))
For now - it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. For you as a mother, the only important thing is for you to take care of your son and yourself. For you as a Christian, the only important thing is to continue to rely on Jesus as your help and salvation. Dear - we AREN't of this world. Christianity is a state of being, not a state of religion. :)
Move on. Humble yourself before God. Allow Him to love you. Once you develop a personal relationship with Him, you will soon see what it is He requires of you.

Blessings to you and yours dear - I truly hope and pray things work out for you.

those kinds of Christians are usually the ones who have been battered with Old Testament religious beliefs and given very little of the Gospel truth, so they live in constant and never ending fear and project their guilt outwards

(Jesus made it very clear that we are not ever to judge others because only God can see into another's heart and know the reasons for their decisions.)

I just looked at your profile and read your questions (All four of them). I only saw one case of intemperance or bashing. Considering the number of responses you got, that's a very low average for what normally goes on in Yahoo! Answers.

As you read the bible you find out more about God's law for us. You will begin to see this world for what it is. Satan is the God of this world and we need to separate from it. The unsaved will se you trying to become more of what God wants as an attack on what they love. In essence it is but not against them against Satan 1Jn 2:15-16. We as Christians must tell the lost how to be saved and that means having them confront their sin which upsets them. But what do you want more? To love God and tell others allowing him to give you peace or love yourself and keep quiet having peace from the world.
