Well...lets see...I don't even see how you can compare the two.
forget "gay" and just use the word "sinner" and then put in your, mine, his and her personal sins...which is worse...being an adulter, thief, murderer, liar (chose the one personally applies) ..or ..being loyal to God?
I'd chose being a sinner is worse than being loyal to God.
Now...since you brought it up...God wasn't testing Abraham's loyalty...it was Abraham's trust that was being tested.
See...if you remember the whole story...it was Abraham and Sarah, both WAY PAST being able to have children. And it was God who told them, I'm not only going to give you a child, I'm going to bless you with descendents more than the stars or the sand on the beach.
See...God was testing Abraham's trust in the promise. If he killed his son, there would be no descendents. Could he put his family above what God has asked him to do?
And before we get all crocky about this..remember...there are plenty of men and women who put 'THEIR CALLING' above their family. Firemen, policemen, military heroes....all are willing to do something, even though it means their family may be the looser.
Still trying to find God guilty? Might want to put together a better case. This one wouldn't even make it past the grand jury.

Everyone I have known that is gay is an emotional train wreck with some sort of sexual abuse in their past. I don't condemn them , I just want to help them understand that their behavior is self destructive and that there is hope and healing and happiness for them. I am sure that many people, especially the self proclaimed Christians are the first to condemn, but God says to come to him just as you are.He will help you, not expect you to fix yourself before you can come to Him.
God wants mercy, not sacrifice. Jesus spoke to the religious leaders in Matthew 9:10-13 when He sat down with publicans and sinners and told them to go learn what it means when God said I will have mercy and not sacrifice, For I have not come here to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance. Again in Matthew12:7, Jesus says to the Pharisees, "But if you had known what it means, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, you would not condemn the guiltless. "
If God doesn't condemn you , then why should anyone? God requires faith, not head knowledge, religion, or perfection. You open your heart and mind and He will reveal the truth and answer all your questions.

According to Christianity - being gay. Christians believe that they are to do God's will regardless of what he asks of them. They believe he knows best. Being gay, on the other hand, is considered an abomination.
According to modern society - A voice telling a guy to kill his son to prove his loyalty. These days we'd call him a dangerous schizophrenic and put him in a mental institution on meds.

Old Testament says Moses administered the DEATH penalty for a poor man who collected firewood on the sabbath ?
"While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was discovered gathering wood on the Sabbath day. Those who caught him at it brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly. But they kept him in custody, for there was no clear decision as to what should be done with him. Then the Lord said to Moses, "This man shall be put to death; let the whole community stone him outside the camp." So the whole community led him outside the camp and stoned him to death as the Lord had commanded Moses." Numbers 15:32-36 NAB

Well, being Gay is not a sin.Telling a servant to kill their kid is.
EDIT..Who is condemning Gays ? Certain Christians ? God made them that way, therefore they are condemning God.
Gays are self destructive ......in what way ? Sexual abuse in the past ? Emotional train wreck ? I am always amazed at what some ''Christians" believe. They definitely need counselling.

I don't have a servant. But as per your question about living a life as a homosexual. There is erroneous logic used to justify such a life. God is the creator and we are the creature. Our rights are only as God gives us. Our moral are derived from God's revealed will, which is a reflection of his amazing attributes.
Jesus tells us that men are to control their lustful thoughts regarding women (I know we are talking about homosexual acts, but the principle applies) - that such lustful thoughts outside of a proper relationship is sin. He did not excuse such thoughts as if sexual lusts were intrinsic and beyond repentance. By themselves, yes these desires can be very difficult to overcome. Like choices to abuse alcohol and drugs, people can feel enslaved by their homosexual desires. Thank God, homosexuality is not an unforgivable sin and today is still the day of salvation.

There are a lot of laws that have been changed since 300ad.It's clearly stated that being gay is an abomination of God. He condemns it! I certainly don't condone it, but I don't hate people because there gay. I hate the sin not the sinner.

Its better to attempt to pass a test than to perform an abominable act on a fellow human being.

If you are referring to Abraham, God was only asking him to do as he himself was going to do. Abraham was not required to sacrifice his son.
I know you can not grasp this but this life is a punishment not an end unto itself. It is all about what you do to find God in a place where he is not known or even denied to exist.

I dont really understand the question, I assume its aimed at a certain religious text where this happens, but i would say murder will always be worse than homosexuality, because murder is inherently wrong, written in the 10 commandments but homosexuality is not and isnt (as far as i know) written about in the bible!
