Spring scarce had greener fields to show than these
Of mid September; through the still warm noon
The rivulets ripple forth a gladder tune
Than ever in the summer; from the trees
Dusk-green, and murmuring inward melodies,
No leaf drops yet; only our evenings swoon
In pallid skies more suddenly, and the moon
Finds motionless white mists out on the leas.
-Edward Dowden, In September

Do you remember the 21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away
Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away
-Earth, Wind and Fire, September (Lyrics by Maurice White, Charles Stemney and Verdine White)

Thanks. I loved the quotes. I am not Pagan but I do like many of their practices in regards to connection with nature and its symbolism in many aspects of our lives. I do celebrate many of their holidays for their natural observances.

I usually would go apple picking at an orchard in honor of the season and the memory of my mom and the happy times we shared doing this each fall. This year though I am in a foreign place and don't know if there are any orchards around open to go to. I will probably focus on my garden and what needs to be harvested or tended to before the weather gets colder. I will meditate on what I have achieved or experienced so far through the year and what course to set for the close of the year. I like connecting this to the analogy of what have you sown (literally and figuratively) in this year? Am I reaping the healthy and constructive fruits or paying the price of poor planning, neglect, and bad choices? What changes do I need to make to achieve better results? Or what have I done right? Its a time of adjusting course if needed for me. I also like to collect leaves with kids in my life once they start to turn and fall and then press them. Its also an opportunity to talk about what causes the leaves to change color and the astronomy and natural phenomenon behind the equinox.

Thanks for the nice post. I'm going to download that Earth, Wind, and Fire song. Best Mabon wishes to you!

Thank you so much for those words! Blessed Mabon to everyone and may Goddess Bless! May you all reap a very bountiful harvest this season!
I hope to be takeing care of my poor sick fiancee lol. I'm going to have some good home cooked food and spend some time outside then have a small ritual and make some protection sachets. I had hoped to have a small group of people involved but unfortunately it did not work out that way.

May you Blessed Be!

Of course we'll be celebrating Mabon. We're having a picnic and a belly blessing for a fellow covener who's due to give birth soon. What better way to celebrate fruitfulness than with a new baby!

May true Peace.Love and acts of doing-good to others fill the Earth.

May goodness prosper and may we all treat others the way we want to be treated.

Offer away. It will make no difference to many of us but if it makes you happy.
