an objective question can be said to have an answer, even before saying where is my dog, an answer exists, but for a subjective question like what is life? no answer exists before the question is asked.

First of all, I don't think it's a waste of five points because it's an interesting question. Second of all, yes, I believe that a question Does have an answer before anyone answers it. Here's an example: You asked this question to us but you already knew what answer you wanted to hear to it or you, sort of knew, how others would respond to it. Which is why you made the additional details at the bottom of the bold letters/words. Another example is if I ask someone how does my outfit look and I think it's pretty, the other person might tell me what I think or know already.

Yep, questions do have answers before they're answered. Think of it this way, grass is green even before anyone asks if it is. LOL Then someone may ask "Is grass green?" Yeah it is...the questions already had an answer before it was asked.
Anything someone even thinks of asking has to have an answer because there has to be information to find. Its either a yes or no answer or something open ended. Some questions can have many answers but it still had an answer even before it was asked.
Good question, I like it...really made me do some REAL thinking today :)

I believe so but the importance of asking question is to gather the ideas, opinions and views of someone else. That's the beaty of asking questions. In my case, i don't care for my five points as long as i shoot an interesting philosophical question to everybody. Each person for me is a unique individual. Each one has its own way of treating my question. I have respect to all the answers because that what comes out in their mind. Somehow it also shows the personality of a person. It shows how witty they are, how good they answer a question. How fast they could draw answer to my question. I learn so many things from all the answers i got. I would say some answers based on their personal experiences, thoughts and feelings. Indeed, one of the best questions i consider in this site comes from you. Good luck and hope to look forward on your interesting questions.
Have a wonderful day!

There are no questions in nature independently of someone who would ask them (i.e. a human). So, when there is a question, that means there is a person who asked it. That of course, doesn't necessarily mean the person who asks the question has an answer in mind. For example, a person sees a question written on a wall in an ancient cave that asks: "who is responsible for this"? Not knowing what it is the question refers to, doesnt allow the person to know the scope of answers.
Another example. You are going to throw a dice and before you do that you ask: Do you know what side of the dice will face upward?
The question is asked, but does anyone know the answer? No! Noone can know the precise answer because it depends entirely on chance.
Hope this shades some like on your question. Thanks. :)

Philosophically speaking, question is the route to an existing answer..... if there is no answer, the question can either not arise or be meaningless. I believe that a logical mind can not think of any meaningless question... hence every question has one or more answers, irrespective of whether we know the answer/s as yet or not.
When we think about it deeply, it all boils down to that proverbial truth that everything has a reason... the cause and effect is an inviolable principle in this ongoing universe.
Great question!!

I think this is quite a complex question but my answer would be yes because although no one knows the answer one will be found so there is one. Like if you think of cavemen they may not have known what something as simple as 2+2 is but there is still and answer to it.

I think questions exist because there are answers. The existence of a question is defined by the existence of an answer. It may not be known to some people, thus they ask, but there should be an answer to it.
Question is to black as answer is to white. Does black really exist unless there is white to point its extreme description? Can you call it daylight unless you have seen darkness?

the answer is yes, it does, because for a solid 95% of the questions asked on YA!, the phrase "just google it" will work perfectly.
Usually that is what most answerers just do anyway.

A question ain't really a question if you already know the answer to it.If you ask foryour" own personal reassurance" than you are asking for an opinion. Not for expanding your knowledge
