If I don't allow people to walk all over me then I have nothing to be vindictive about.

That's two different things.

Being vindictive to me is evil.
Vengeance is mine said the Lord.

Let Him take care of it.

I let a few things pass by that aren't
important.

Neither, I'm not vindictive nor do i let anyone walk over me... I instead, try to be as open minded as I can and not judge anyone....I also try to be as honest as I can be and strong in my own personal beliefs.... I don't really relate to your question...

Neither! being vindictive is a waste of energy and being walked all over is a waste of life.

Be firm, but willing to listen and learn.

Cheers :-)

I am not vindictive, but I am assertive and I nip problems in the bud.

This is the logical fallacy of "false dichotomy." There are many, many options besides the two you mention. So your answer is "no" and "no" -- I do not allow myself to be used as a doormat, nor do I stoop to petty acts of revenge.

Neither one, actually. You can be fair yet firm, and the only way people will walk over you is if you let them.

Neither. Why would you think there's only one or the other?
