Eh?? I would expect my partner to have had sex before. If I met a virgin I would be gobsmacked! I don't know if it is your religion that makes you ask this. If it is, it depends on your own personal feelings.

In this new age and time, sex is now very casual thing, hence it is no longer surprising that majority of young adults engaged in sex before they even get married. Giving up a relationship because you discovered your partner had sex in the past is not a valid reason. Besides, the past belongs to the past. Forget about those unpleasant history and concentrate on what is the present. Real love would not make records of the wrong but celebrate what is right.

Well that depends. There are several factors that need to be considered. First, did your partner tell you that he/she didn't have sex in the past relationship? If it was never stated, then it shouldn't be worried about. If he/she did lie, then you have a whole other set of issues to consider. Another factor is that in today's day and age, it is very hard to find a partner that hasn't had sex in a prior relationship. Moral standards aren't at the same level as they work were 50, even 20 years ago. I say, if that's all you have to worry about in the relationship, forget about it and move on. Everyone has a past on some level. Define your own rules / expectations in your current relationship, and stand by them.

Ugh....
Unless you're like 14.....
You can't change the past. Most all people assume their partner has had sex in the past with other people. This isn't 1905, people have sex with their partners, and a lot of times, end up breaking up. So again, unless you're extremely young, that's no reason to quit your relationship. Unless ofcourse she or he swore up and down they're a virgin and you're like a crazy devoted christian that will only have sex once you're married.....

Well firstly my partner was with his ex for 14 years and they had two children...so I was guessing that they had had sex!!
And under any other circumstances, unless the erson I was dating told me they had not had sex and they had, I would have expected them to have been intimate together, its all part of a relationship.
And if she/he HAD lied about it, I would be a little hurt, but I would understand it would be to protect my feelings and not make me think he/she was comparing in bed

No, that is the past. You need to concern yourself only with the present. Always use protection to prevent unwanted pregnancy and STDs. Because of his past, you could insist he have a physical to verify he is free of STDs. He will either do it to ease your mind, or break up you.

It is none of your business what your partner did sexually in his or her past unless it is going to affect your health today. you have no right to even ask. The past is the past, and you are the future!!
