My friend, who is a girl, said that most women just want a one night stand these days. She said this cause I am talking about another girl, that I want to get to know for a relationship. Did she say this to deter me from making a move, or do most women really just want sex these days?

Women want to have sex just as much as men, no more no less. We've been socialized to behave diffrently about sex, to ignore ourselves sexually, to pretend we don't have certain feelings -especially during teenagehood. Unless your friend has specifically heard something from this girl, she may be trying to deter you. Women don't want a one night stand more or less than men.

not true- most women are looking for a commitment- your friend is hangng around with the few people who sleep around (they could be prostitutes or even just slags)
