My parents are Muslim but they aren't very religious. I was not really brought up as the "Islamic" way. But I'm now trying to become a better Muslim and I don't really think my parents had anything to do with that honestly. They really don't encourage me or discourage me so my beliefs are pretty much coming from my thinking.
And Ray you're wrong, I've actually met a few atheists who have converted to Islam.

Yup my parents are Muslims, however does it affect what I believe. Definitely not. I learned Islam basically from other people and I also did lots of research by myself. So I guess you can say I strive for knowledge. I am the type of person who questions his parents if they actually practice Islam the right way lol (not saying I am perfect, because I have wrongs too). But yeah, I still love them lol and I guess I should thank them for teaching me the basics.
Peace homie

Yes, my parents are Muslims, Alhamdulillah. And yes, they brought me up as a Muslim.
Over the years, we've grown stronger not just as a family, but as better people and better Muslims.

No, my parents were agnostic and Pagan, and I was brought up with no religious instruction at all. I found Islam and converted as an adult.

My faith is inheritant, however i allow myself to learn about my faith and others open mindedly. I have to say there are quite a few aspects which get mixed up with culture, which is why i rely on more reliable sources.
