Neither is correct! Jesus said when we pray we are not to use babbling or repetition as the heathen but we are to pray from the heart. Repetitious babbling is a total turn off for the Lord. Check it out in the Bible

"Praying" the Rosary is the technically correct term.
And for the record, the only reason repetition was "vain" for the pagans is because their gods are false.
Protestants delight in singing hymns containing many verses ... which is also a very repetetive practice.
One has to wonder why they think that is not "vain repetition".

It'd be recite, but as the guy said Jesus said in the SotM i believe
Do not say vain repititions as the heathen, for they think they shall be heard for their much speaking
Its in matthew 4-8... use KJV and vain repitions to find the verse... here Ill do it...
Matthew
6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

It is actually called vain repetitious praying. This is something that Jesus warned us not to do.
From an ex Roman Catholic who is not bound to all that now and free - praise God.
