God is holy. God is love. God is spirit. He is a moral and jealous God. He created all and sustains all. He is everywhere at the same time, all powerful and all knowing. He is "I AM." Both the Bible and good philosophy report that God is non-physical - spirit. In John 4:24 it is said that God is spirit (see also Luke 24:39; Romans 1:20; Colossians 1:15; 1 Timothy 1:17). This is why no material thing was to be used to represent God (Exodus 20:4). But this can also be shown by reflecting on what God is. Philosophically the same truth comes through. All that is created is necessarily finite and limited. But the first cause (God) is uncreated, and therefore must be non-finite, or infinite. That which is beyond the finite must, by definition, be infinite, and the Bible states that God is beyond creation (1 Kings 8:27; Job 11:7-9; Isaiah 66:1-2; Colossians 1:17). That which is physical cannot be infinite - for you cannot add finite parts together until they reach infinity. Therefore God is spirit as opposed to physical/material in His Being. This does not mean He cannot localize a physical appearance. God is not composed of matter nor any other imaginable substance. He also cannot be measured, is not spatial, and has no true location (presence is a different concept).

The way which can be walked is not the Way
The name that can be named is not the Name
A mind free of preconceptions…beholds God
A mind filled with images…beholds there own imagination
Call the God what you will
Knowing a name is not enough
To make one a companion
For that, one must travel alongside:
The Truth Eternal
The Way Mysterious
The Life Boundless
The Hope Formless
The Love Limitless
…a Follower of the Way

It would probably require a very long paragraph to define God. Perhaps a Russian could do it, their paragraphs go on forever. Read; War and Peace, it's in the book.

Undefineable. God is what can only be hinted at but never understood as what is finite cannot understand that which is infinite. We understand little about God and only through what He gave us in the Bible (and HS and conscience/int). Even Moses who saw God clearest of all men only perceived the back of God as he walked away.

God is life. Without him there is nothing.
I'm a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, although believing isn't a religion, it is being convicted and acting upon that conviction.

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.
Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
