Think about the future and set goals for yourself; say, where do you see yourself in one month.. what should you have accomplished in it.. then work on that focus and let nothing come in your way.
Remember that death is inevitible..happens to everyone at some part of our lives... just that for some it happens in quick successions....
Dont think too much, go out, plan a trip... im sure there was somewhere special you always wanted to go. HANG IN THERE! You'll come out of this phase a better and stronger person but the bottomlineis that its YOU who decides how long you want to be hanted by the past.
Trust me, if you have things to be depressed about, you SURELY must habe things to be happy and proud of.
Goodluck!

i've had someone very close to me die last year so i can kind of relate the thing that help me was to write down my feeling especially before i go to sleep that way you feel like everything has been taken off your mind and you dont have let anyone read it if you dont want to. if this doesnt work find someone you can trust or has had a similar experiace and talk to them
dont dwell on the past concentrate on the future and what makes you happy arrange to go out with friends or family. do sdomething YOU want to do and don't feel forced into anything
i hope this helps

For grief related depression, go to http://www.mind.org.uk/ and type "grief in the taskbar, and enter. Call: (U.S.A.) 1800 445 4808, or Hospice (phone book). Email jo@samaritans.org Chatrooms and forums: http://www.chatmag.com/topics/health/gri... and http://talkingminds.15.forumer.com... and http://messageboards.ivillage.com... Other websites: http://www.griefnet.org/ and http://www.helpguide.org and http://www.mental-health-abc.com/... and http://www.boblivingstone.com?q=node30.. Understand that there are often several stages of grief. See www.amazon.com for books on the various stages. After a while, consider making a photoalbum/scrapbook and/or a shrine, in remembrance, and set aside one day per month on which to reflect. Many religious organisations offer counselling, or you may feel more comfortable with a therapist, to express your thoughts, and feelings. Journalling may help in this. If the depression continues, visit your doctor, and see depression treatments, at http://www.ezy-build.net. (.net.nz/~shaneris) in section 2. Insomnia treatments are on page 3.

You should admit that whatever has happened in the past has already happened. At present they are beyond your control to undo or modify them in any way.Brooding over them will give you only sleepless nights and depression. Hence, do not waste your energies over any matter of the past.Just think that they were in your destiny..Start a new life ,concentrating your full attention on the PRESENT only.

Get in touch with your higher power. Get together and just pal around for some time. Getting out of yourself and looking at other things that are going on in your life is much better than lingering in pain...
