That's true Jesus is the only mediator between God and mankind no other person has that authority, Jesus is the only mediator(1Tinothy2:5)and yet even to him we should not pray, but through him only to God.

You only think the bible is clear on that point.
The mother of the king of the House of David is the queen, and the traditional role of the queen mother is to intercede for the people with the king.
Jesus is the king of the ages, and he is also the eternal king of the House of David.
As his mother, Mary is the queen, and she is also the designated intercessor for the kingdom.
This system of things was established under the reign of Solomon. You can read exactly how it works here:
http://www.usccb.org/nab/bible/1kings/1kings2.htm
1st Kings 2:12 - 2:20
Furthermore, according to the royal priesthood of believers, we all have the right to pray directly to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, any time we choose.
Jesus made all of this possible. That's why he is the ONE mediator between God and man.
This does not preclude his delegation of authority, and it does not prevent us from praying to anyone else who happens to also be "in the family".
You should try a little more "vain repetition" with your bible.

Raised in the High Episcopal church, with all the incense
swinging and ritual and stuff...and being a seeker all my life,
I can now say, this is my creed.
I Believe....
That Mary lied to save her life, because she didn't want to be
stoned to death in the town square, which was the penalty for
unwed mothers at the time, and Joseph loved her enough to cover for her.
I also believe that Jesus said, "I AM" IS the way the truth and the life. No man shall enter the kingdom but through me."..which translates to
"Live in the Present moment at all times...Be Here Now...
and live in Christ consciousness".....and the "is" was conveinently dropped in translation, to enslave the masses to the church for financial and political reasons.
Since we think for God all the time, shouldn't we also assume that God thinks the correct path back to him is the one that includes the most believers it can?
Is it not hypocritical and disingenuous to presume that any of us knows how God thinks, and further, empowers us to tell other believers how God thinks...to bait atheists..and to brandish that pompous bumper sticker..."Christians aren't
perfect...just forgiven"..?
Some people pray to money, some to crystal meth, some to Mary, some to music, some to pizza....it's not for us to call it right or wrong. Judging is God's business..Christ
instructs us to love each other UNCONDITIONALLY....isn't
that the hardest thing we face in a life filled with conditions and restrictions? Practice Peace...you can't have perfect peace tomorrow...but practice makes perfect..praise God, and let the mystery be. LET IT BE.

Different people have different beliefs and interpret the Bible differently. It doesn't make it right. But, they also have faith that what they believe is right. I know Catholics believe this. What I was told is that they don't believe they are pure or holy enough to talk to God themselves. So, they go through the virgin Mary or the Pope. But these people aren't any better than we are. Romans 3:23 "For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." That means the virgin Mary, the Pope, me and you... People are different though. God gave us all a choice. He will judge and ask us all questions on judgment day. Just believe in what you believe in, have 100% faith in it, and pray straight to God if that's what you believe. I do... I talk to Him all the time. I don't need anyone to interpret what I want to tell Him or tell Him for me. It's between me and Him.
People are different. Believe different things. Just have faith in what you believe is to be right.

You are correct.
The veneration of Mary was invented by the Roman Church in the 5th Century about the year 432.
Feasts in honor of the Mary began in 650
The immaculate conception of the Virgin Mary was announced in 1854 and the personal corporeal presence of the Virgin in heaven in 1950.
Although they claim these things have always been "Church Tradition" they are unable to produce any documentary evidence proving that the original 1st Century Church believed such things and it's interesting that none of these doctrines about Mary are mentioned in the Nicene Creed or the Apostles Creed.

When in time of need we can ask others to pray for us. Mary and the saints pray for us. "St. Jude pray for us" . We ask, petition, if we want- it's not a requirement for others to pray for us to include Mary and the Saints. All of Christianity prays for others and asks others to pray for them or their needs.
Catholicism is growing, like it or not, and the Church will always be, like it or not. But the Roman Catholic Church has weathered for almost 2,000 years and it's been through far worse times than these times.
It's easy to pick on Catholics and the Catholic church. Some think it's fun. I personally don't pick on anyone's belief system. Christ taught us tolerance and peace.

Yes but who else other than his mom can help change his mind. People can have their own beliefs, Let God sort it out in the end, not us, we need to stop worrying about what other peoples religious beliefs are and worry about our own. I could care less if my neighbor or best friend worships a rock as his God, that won't change my belief or where I go when I die, only his. Let them be.

Because people have the RIGHT to believe the way they want! If the Catholics are wrong then they will have to work that out with God!
If you don't think that is the way it is done just don't be a Catholic!
