I caught a cold yesterday...I was feeling fine all day, and then after field hockey practice I started to feel really congested and achey. So I slept the rest of that day, went to school and FH practice today, and I've just been feeling worse and worse. Sometimes I can hardly breathe, or I'll be sweating and burning hot one minute, and the next I'll be freezing cold, complete with goosebumps.
Is there anything I can do to get rid of the cold by tuesday? Or sooner? I have a big FH game that day, and my team is so small that we don't have any subs...so if I can't play, then they might have to play without a left forward.

I've been taking DayQuil and Advil and also drinking lots of tea and water, but nothing seems to be helping. I haven't had much of an appetite, but I've been eating fruit mostly to get vitamin C and stuff...along with whole grain cereal and bread, soy beans, and soup.

Is there anything else I can do? Or do I just have to wait it out?

Thanks.

Heat some water and inhale as much vapor as you can. This will give you instant relief, without any side effect.

I find the best thing is 2 teaspoons of Manuka Honey 8+ (its active and has antibodies in it) with a cup of warm water and a tablespoon of brandy at least 2 times a day

If you use medicine, cold will go off in a week.

If you dont, it'll go in 7 days.

Hope, now you know what to do.
