is scary? Why do atheists fear Christians who teach their children their religion? Even if they are young, they need to be taught that they have been born with original sin heavy on their souls, and that they are vulnerable to demons. Why do you criticize us for trying to save our children's souls?

This is a very broad question. Atheism literally means 'without god' and since most human acts of devastation have been in the name of one god or another, this would suggest that they are less harmful than people with a religion. If you think about it in a more abstract way, atheism promotes free thinking and the choice to believe what you want without the hindrance of someone telling you what is correct without any evidence. In this way, many religions actually promote ignorance over knowledge. (The reasoning behind this lays with early society humans trying to form a manageable society that functions well together. Religion is a very effective way to do this, hence why there are so many similarities between them). So depending on what you mean by harm, in early human society atheism could have been more detrimental to the progression of the human race but in recent times (the last 150 years or so) religion is losing its place in modern society.

There is a difference between teaching your children your beliefs and etching it into their brain. That documentary made me disgusted, it even made my Christian family disgusted. If someone chooses to believe in Christ that is fine by me, but those kids are being brainwashed.

And yes, Kotaro Z, I was very much reminded of the Hitler Youth.

I am a Christian, and I found Jesus Camp scary. That's not the way to save those poor children's souls.

It's called Brainwashing.

Children are highly suseptible to learn exactly as they are told and not question it.

When the christians had the crusades, there was a group of children sent in to battle. Most of these were captured and easily converted to Islam and fought for the Muslims just as they had for the christians.

I criticize you and I am a Christian. That's not the Christian part of the movie that "scared" me. It was the part where nobody wanted to admit that Bush might have started an unholy war, or when they said that "facts don't prove anything." If facts don't prove anything, at least to me, that's like saying the truth can be completely relative.

It's indoctrination...just like in Nazi Youth Camps. It's unbelievable how people like you can't see the harm you could be doing your children. All that's important to you is your religion. There are no demons! Jesus Camp is crazy.

Atheists obviously want to take your children away from you so they can teach them communism and moral relativism instead of decency. Pol Pot did the same thing in Cambodia, interning everyone into reeducation camps where a whole quarter of his population was killed instead of converted.

why can't you bible beaters understand that some of us actually have functioning brains and don't need to belong to a cult. we don't need to "believe" that our time here on earth is just the beginning and that there has to be some purpose to life. we are just like every other living creature on this planet, you live and die and it's all over, the end...

Ummmm, because Christianity isn't true. And these people are staking their lives and my future and my children's future on it.

Sometimes I hate Christians.
