Has anyone heard of this? Do you think it is still going on today? Can you explain to me what you know?

The LDS used to practice this evil doctrine back in Brigham Young's days. It can be found taught in his own Journal of Discourses. basically for certain sins he taught that for the only way for the person to be forgiven was to kill them, to shed their blood. If LDS Mormons deny this they are either liars or completely ignorant of their own history. Young even taught blood atonement for those engaged in interracial relationships.... that any white and African caught in the situation should be killed on the spot. The blood atonement doctrine was used to justify the Meadows Mountain Massacre where LDS men disguised themselves as Indians and murdered men, women and children of a wagon train who were just passing through. There is a movie coming out about this very thing. Simply do a Yahoo search on Mormon and Blood Atonement and you will find tons of information on it. LDS do not practice or teach this doctrine today, yet they still revere Brigham Young who did.

Isn't capital punishment blood atonement? If some one commits a heinous crime, the only way to truely atone for the deed is by the death penalty.
