Here is the synopsis if you haven't.

Claude Vorilhon first made contact with "Elohim" on a December morning in 1973 at the Puy de Lassolas crater near Clermond-Ferrand, France. He saw a metallic looking engine and was warmly received on Elohim's ship.

For the next five days, he met with the aliens for an hour at a time to listen to their message. Vorilhon has not been aboard the ship since, save for another encounter on October 7, 1975.

It was on the ship that he was told that humans were created in laboratories by people from another planet who had mastered the science of genetics and cell biology over 25,000 years ago.

The Raelian movement spreads the message that life on earth is not the result of random evolution or the work of God. Instead, Raelians believe that humans are a deliberate creation of a scientifically advanced people who used DNA to make human beings literally, "in their image".

These are also the people who own CLONAID.

It might just be me but I am going with cult. How many believers do that have? Do they have a leader? Do they give money to the leader? It would be hard to know if they meet the textbook definition of cult but I am guessing, off the top of my head, yes.
I have studied many religions and I have never even heard of this.
Sounds like an episode of Stargate SG1. Thor came down in his ship and met with Jack and Sam and explained all this and they travel back through the gate to find the answers to lifes probing questions. LOL

Yes, I've heard of them. The Raelians are one of the more flamboyant UFO groups, along with the Unarius Academy of Science.

Yes, I have heard of them, and even got to talk to one in a chat room a couple years ago. Their beliefs are very strange to me, and I also believe that the leader has lied about cloning a human in order to get attention, which is immoral in my opinion.

But I would not call them a "cult" in the sense that I think you are asking about. I do not know them to be dangerous. And they are entitled to their beliefs.

Yes, I have heard of it. It doesn't exactly make sense to me, but to each his own, I suppose.
