Witches, do you have a familiar?

I'm not sure that the term familiar REALLY applies to my catBUT, she DOES love to be in the circle with me and lend me energies in particular instances. Most folks truly do NOT understand the concept of a familiar. A familiar is a kindred spirit who will serfve as a helper in the circle, lend you extra energies, provide guidance and act as a spiritual protector. They CAN inhabit a close pet or plant for which you have a close affinity but that is NOT essential to their existence. Some Witches have a familiar spirit that does NOT have a corresponding material body and only exists on the spiritual level. This is very different from a beloved pet (most of the times a cat) that is very closely bonded to the person.

As my cat is closely bonded to me and occasinally lends her energies to my working, I consider her to be close enough to being considered a familiar BUT, I don't believe that she is a TRUE familiar. A familiar is CONSTANTLY near by and ALWAYS assisting the Witch, NOT just on occasions but at ALL times.

Yeah right now I have a familiar dog whining at me because he wants to go chew things in another room.. Seriously though if I was a witch I would have to say I have way to many familiars.. 3 dogs and 4 cats.

PS I have looked into witches alot, perhaps in the past I would have been burned as one by religious believers during the inquisitions simply because I have red hair. Strange to think about... Isn't it?

Even though I have two cats and two dogs they aren't my familiars. Very rarely do they venture into what I'm doing. They will sit and watch though.

I think my cat has gotten the idea into his head that he wants to be my familiar. Whatever I do, he comes around to bother me, rub against my legs and try to jump in my lap. Or, if I don't do whatever he wants me to, he claws me. Little shite. And then he is so unbearably cute that I can't even be angry with him..

I have a familiar kitty, and a familiar spirit, and I used to have a familiar rat, but he suffered a bad stroke and had to be euthanised

I have two cats----a yellow one and a black one. They are my friends and lend themselfs to helping me with much of my craft work.
