This is a serious question. Why do christians NEVER question their faith? I know it says not to in their bible, but what if they are all wrong. I'm not stating that xians are wrong, i'm just saying WHAT-IF there is no god. Why would they prance around their entire lives worshiping an invisible man and not think twice about it.
Most xians are born into their faiths, and never once question religion. They just blindly accept it.
Now you say: "Isn't it better to error on the safe side and praise god if he may or may not exists?" Well, would you like to also error on the safe side and praise the "magical flying invisible teddy bear"? The MFITB will give you eternal life if you worship him. Should you spend your life blindly devoted to the teddy bear, or should you pause and question it?
Please, dont give me any flak for this question. I would like some intelligent answers from Christians as to why they don't think twice about God. Atheists, please dont answer this one!

I'm glad to hear that other Christians are questioning god. I was Xian for 16 years officially, and I've spent the better part of the last decade as an Atheist. I was just wondering how many other Xians just blindly take this **** down their throats. Come on people, god isn't real, you see it, you know its true deep down. Man i feel sorry for you guys stuck in the middle.

A lot of good answers coming out. I didn't know so many Xians questioned their faith. I don't remember exactly what pushed me over the edge into Atheism finally, but I know it took about 4 damned years of semi-agnosticism to do it.
Also, I would like to mention that Atheism is NOT the lack of religion. Atheism is a belief that god doesn't exist until proven otherwise.

Atheist assume there is no God and thus no revelation from God.
Have you ever tried to explain red to someone who was born color blind?

What makes you think Christians don't question their faith? Also, faith and religion are not the same thing, necessarily. Many people move from one denomination to another or to non-denominational churches.
For me, it's a little different because I was an atheist for a very long time, and only became a Christian at the age of 31. I had already done a great deal of questioning and rejecting of God before I decided to be open to the notion that I might be mistaken. A friend recommended that I read "Mere Christianity" by CS Lewis, and before I finished it, I knew that Christianity was right where I was wrong. (And I had to be willing to "overlook" things in the book that gave me offense until I could learn what was important. All those questions and offenses were eventually answered.)
The thing is, I'm not blindly devoted. I have a relationship with God in all his persons; he is present in my life. This is not something I could understand before experiencing it, so if this isn't your experience, I probably can't explain it to your satisfaction. I only know that God has been with me in all my "dark nights of the soul," and has neither forsaken me nor failed me yet.
I would love for everyone to experience this - not because I somehow get "points" for there being more Christians or anything like that, but because it is the source of all the joy in my life and I wish I could share it with you. It's not like I haven't had hardship in the past 14+ years since coming to Christ and it's not like I haven't still wrestled with God and questioned and demanded like a baby. But I know he's there and it's a comfort.

No one should blindly follow any belief system. Like you said, you shouldn't base your life and eternity on any belief without careful investigation to see which belief is the correct one. You don't want to find out when it is too late that you are wrong.
I am a Christian and I don't believe in a myth. The evidence lines up with the Bible 100%. Nothing in the Bible has been disproven. Honestly, I have thought twice about God, but when I looked at the evidence, I came to the conclusion that God exists and the Bible is true.
I don't believe this universe with all its complexity came from an explosion. It was obviously formed by the hand of God. What explosion have you seen that has produced anything orderly?
Look into the evidence for yourself and see which religion is the right. Lee Strobel did this. He was a journalist and decided to see if the claims of Christianity were true. He looked at the evidence, came to the conclusion that the Bible is true, and became a Christian.

I'm living a good life either way. I would rather believe in God than not and pay the price. He's not invisible when you can feel him in your heart and soul.
Just because your a Christian doesn't mean you will live a life with no troubles or sorrows, the Bible tells you that.
There are more scriptures in the Bible about God's wrath than God's love. Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven.
You act as if to believe in God is to have no life. Without God you have no life.
Look what our country is going through, I am seriously scared for my children's future. The minute they started taking God out of everything this country started falling apart. You can't even turn on the TV anymore for good quality family programs. You can say God D*** all day long on TV but they will beep out F*ck. It's just sickening. All of this destruction you see, is in the Bible, it's called End Times, read Revelations.
God told Noah to build the Ark and load up, he was sick of the filth and he washed it away. And from what I can see, this is becoming a filthy nation, so look out.

From my experience, most Christians I know DO question their faith pretty frequently. Apparently, the answers they receive prevent them from LOSING faith.
I'm a Christian and I personally question things all the time. Just because God doesn't appear in front of me and give me a scroll with "Yes, I'm real, heaven is real, hell is real, sin is real, you can believe me now" written on it doesn't mean I should stop believing.
I've read lots of books, studied different religions, and have seriously thought about these issues a lot. I actually think Christianity is quite logical, and believe that you don't have to check your intellect at the door to be a Christian.
What exactly is the harm in believing in God, anyway? If I'm right, then I will have an eternity to be grateful. If I'm wrong...well, there will either be nothing at all or something that I haven't even contemplated. *shrugs* I don't know what else to tell you. Hope you get the answers you need.

First of all I dont "prance" lol Seriosuly though, its faith. Many people with no faith hate this very concept. I in no way was born into this, I came a long way being called throughout the years and it finally happened when I was 25.
Jesus calls to us and He is real to us. We couldnt possibly make you feel or know what our own personal hearts know and feel. I see and feel the Lord throughout my day, in my many blessings, and there is no reason for me to question. I questioned for 25 years, when I found the real deal I stopped questioning. More importantly, why does this lack of constant questioning on my part bother others? Why am I called intolerant for my beliefs by people who are utterly, rudely intolerant of mine? People need to gain peace and understanding and RESPECT for one another, something that is lacking greatly on this site. As for the magical flying teddy bear, if there were such a belief, I would hope I would be just as open, tolerant and kind to those people as I am to atheists and others with beliefs that are different from my own. Gods peace.

Honestly, I am a Christian, and I do question my faith.......all the time. I do worry about if God really is there of if there's something else that I should be spending my time and energy on. But if I really do sit down and think about it, God has taken care of me, really. I do believe that He's there, watching me worry and think too much about the subject of his existence.
I mean, have I ever seen God himself or a true obvious miracle? Have I ever have a majorly prophetic dream about anything or a direct command from God through an angel or something? no. Would it be kinda nice to have some kind of proof that God is really there? sure. But I could be waiting for forever for that proof. and it's not the way it works anymore. Sure, Moses got to see God, and what's his name got to take down a whole city just by sounding a stinkin trumpet a few times. But even then, there was a lot of believing in God that they had to do. Moses had to have faith that God would part the Red Sea when he raised his staff, otherwise, he would have looked like a complete idiot.
Unfortunately, that's the chief danger that American Christians have to face.....looking stupid. I just have to decide if looking stupid is worth it or not.

I was not born into my faith any more then you were born in your non faith. Each person has their own experience with God. Of course when we are searching for God, we have all kinds of questions. But once you experience Gods love and grace in your life, you don't question God. I have questioned some different religions before I found what I believe in. But I never question if God is real, because I know He is.
Now on the other hand, have you ever thought that maybe you might be wrong and that there is a God. What if you are wrong, and fail to have the joy of God in your life. And please, out of respect for Christians, please don't use an x for
Christ. thank-you

Because most of the really fervent, sterotypical Southern bible belt christians believe that to question is tatamount to insulting God by not believeing in him 100% 24/7 and that to have any questions at all about their faith is equivalent to having limited confidence in the Lord, even though for the utmost faith possible you must have questions to seek a closer connection with God so as to understand him better, this is what I believe as a Roman Catholic.

Have you ever, considered that conversely speaking, that some Christians were once Atheists, who questions Atheism and God [theology] ? My brother-in-law is a professor of nuclear physics, has a photographic memory, a genius I.Q. and is a Christian too. You could never even, come close to intellectual compatibility with him. He can prove the existence of God. Granted; there are a lot of Christians, who were just "born" into the beliefs of his or her parents and have not addressed the issue. For myself, I have questioned it prior to becoming one [Christian] and found evidence of God's existence - it's there (if you know where to look). I was the biggest Atheist, at one time, and I can assure you, that Christianity would have been the last resort for my life ! The main reason non-believers (Atheists and Agnostics) do not grasp it or believe it - is simply because it has not been revealed to them - it's a "calling" or a "selection" (see: John chapter 6, verse 44 ... for what it's worth). I thought the way you do now, at one time. By the way; the Bible does not say, that we shouldn't question our faith. Much to the contrary, it says "prove ALL things" .
Your perspective is very shallow and typical !
P.S. Now; I can see where you are coming from. you are suffering the withdrawl symptoms of LEGALISM - not spirituality (a relationship with God, the Father, founded in grace and unconditional love).
You have never experienced real-true-genuine christianity
and are very bitter because of it. You have been duped by false religion - legalism (performance-based) and have gotten in trouble from a "pastor" for not meeting the rigid standards. Don't judge us all by your bad experience !!!

Ok, in all honesty, I have questioned my faith... at one time I turned from it entirely, in fact. Because of this, I do not "prance around" about my faith, nor do I take it lightly. I have seen with my own eyes and experienced what God can do if I let Him.
I think that you should also be directing your questions at yourself. Have you ever questioned your lack of belief? Have you ever wondered why more than half of the world's populations believes in some form of benevolent being? Do you really believe that a large percentage of the world's population can be delusional about the same thing at the same time in the technology age? What if there is a God? Are you willing to open your heart enough to find out?
I have questioned and scrutinized my faith. Have you?
